A Study on the School Occupancy Schedule for the Realization of Green BIM in Korea

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to propose a Korean school occupancy schedule for energy simulation. Recently, energy simulation using BIM data comes into the spot light as alternatives for the realization of green building worldwidely and the related research has been actively performed in Korea. However, Korea is relied on ASHRAE Standards for there is lack of guidelines and no energy simulation parameter that is adquate for domestic circumstances in Korea. In fact, there are many things that are not consistent with the reality of Korea and school buildings, particularly, has many problems in energy simulation because of the difference between two countries' school curriculum. This paper, therefore, will understand the actual problem through analyzing the difference of ASHRAE standards' criteria input result, suggesting Korean school occupancy schedule and verifying it with energy simulation. For this purpose, we select simulation tools in the first place, and establish architectural shape information and simulation parameter that includes architecture occupancy schedule. After that, we'll not only be suggesting the difference between ASHRAE standards and Korean standards through energy simulation but also shall analyze the difference between each domestic schools' curriculum. Finally, we shall aim at developing domestic green building design quality by suggesting the application method in the architectural design process for the utilization of Korean school occupancy schedule.
