Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to create the guideline for motivating ambulation in walkable-street-building project. The walkable-street-building project pursues an expanding space for citizens. Also this project is aim to arose pedestrian's walking. Despite desirable intention, this project is as standstill. Because the majority of prior attempts are concentrating on design improvement and landscape plan, thus causing a failures in walkable-street building project. These failures are wasting the financial resources on local government. To overcome this situation, the guideline in this paper suggests a model deducting factors for motivating ambulation. This model is expanded to include physical requirements, which is shown to be necessary for improving the street environment. As a result of this study, walkable-street-building project is expected to contribute to creating public space for citizens and activate walking area for urban environment.
