3차원 실감 방송과 부호화 기술

초록

3차원 실감 방송은 현실 세계의 일들을 가상의 환경 속에서 체험할 수 있게 하는 차세대 방송 기술이다. 최근 다시점 카메라를 이용한 3차원 입체 영상에 대한 관심이 높아지면서, 3차원 영상의 획득 방법과 부호화 기술에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 사용자에게 더 실감나는 장면을 제공하기 위한 3차원 실감 방송의 개념을 설명하고, 3차원 영상의 역사를 간략히 살펴본다. 특히, 최근 MPEG 표준화 그룹에서 진행되고 있는 3차원 비디오 부호화 기술을 소개하고, 향후 진행될 표준화 과정을 설명한다.
