Prostate Cancer Associated with Mediastinal and Pleural Metastasis: A Case Report

종격동과 흉막전이를 보인 전립선암: 증례 보고

Abstract

Mediastinal and pleural metastasis of prostate cancer is very rare. To our knowledge, there have been no reported cases of prostate cancer associated with mediastinal metastasis and pleural seeding nodules. We report a histopathologically confirmed case of mediastinal and pleural metastasis originating from prostate cancer by biopsy, which on initial diagnosis, was suspected as being a malignant thymic tumor with pleural metastasis.

전립선암의 종격동으로의 전이는 드문 것으로 알려져 있다. 특히 종격동과 흉막으로 같이 전이된 경우는 아직 보고된바 없다. 저자들은 영상소견에서 전방 종격동의 악성 흉선종과 흉막전이로 의심하였으나 생검을 통해 전립선암의 전이로 진단된 증례를 보고하고자 한다.
