Analysis of Children's Services and Children's Librarian Jobs in Domestic and Foreign Libraries

국내외 도서관의 아동서비스와 직무사례 분석

Abstract

This paper is a preliminary study to develop the standard job model for strengthening children services in Korean public libraries. To do so, the researchers reviewed and analysed the current status, features, and job of children's services of sample public libraries in the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, and Korea. As a result. library management, development and preservation of childrens' materials, technical services and database management, public services, program services related to book and reading, cooperation activities with the relevant agencies and facilities revealed as a key job of children's librarian. Based on these results, subsequent research will be to develop a standard job model for children's services of public library in Korea.

이 연구는 국내 공공도서관의 아동서비스를 강화하기 위한 표준 직무모형 개발의 예비연구이다. 이를 위하여 미국, 영국, 일본 국내의 공공도서관 사례를 중심으로 아동서비스의 현황과 특징, 직무를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 아동서비스를 위한 도서관 경영관리, 아동장서의 개발과 보존관리, 아동자료의 정리와 DB관리, 직접적 및 간접적 아동서비스, 도서 및 독서관련 프로그램 서비스, 그리고 지역사회의 유관기관 및 시설과의 연계 협력 서비스 등이 아동사서가 수행해야 할 핵심직무로 밝혀졌다. 이를 논거로 삼아 후속연구에서는 표준 직무모형을 개발할 것이다.
