우리나라 대학도서관 공동보존서고의 구축 및 운영에 관한 연구

초록

이 연구의 목적은 우리나라 대학도서관 공동보존서고의 구축과 운영에 필요한 주요한 기능적 특성을 검토 및 제안하는 것이다. 따라서 다른 나라 대학도서관 공동보존서고의 다양한 사례와 특성을 분석하고, 우리나라 환경에 적합한 공동보존서고의 물리적 시설, 부지의 확보와 건축, 운영 방안, 소장자료의 성격과 규모 자료의 소유권, 자료의 이용과 서비스 자료관리와 접근 시스템의 모형 등을 제시하였다. 우리나라 대학도서관 공동보존서고는 교내 공간의 최적의 활용성을 보장하고, "마지막 한 부"를 보존하며, 보존자료의 이용 효율을 보장하는 시설로 구축되어야 하며, 지역별, 권역별 단위 구축, 목적용 고밀도 저장시설의 신축, 인쇄자료 중심의 장서구성, 공동소유권의 인정 및 최신 정보기술을 활용한 도서관리 및 접근 시스템의 채택 등이 필요함을 강조하였다.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the characteristics of a cooperative storage facility for academic libraries in Korea. For this facility, discussed are how to select a site, build physical facilities, recruit participating organizations, prepare for selection criteria and ownership of resources, confirm service policies, and implement a integrated library management and access system. It is emphasized that a cooperative storage facility for academic libraries in Korea should ensure the optimum use of space on campus, preserve "the last copy" which is not frequently used, but still has scholarly values, and extend the effective and efficient resource sharing among participating libraries.

  23. 연간 권당 소요비용은 시설의 최근 연간 운영비용에서 감가상각비와 부채상환비와 같은 비용을 뺀 액수를 최근 소장 권수로 나누는 단순한 공식에 바탕을 두었다고 한다. 이 같은 비용 산출 방식은 사실은 문제의 소지가 있는데，그 이유는 실제 시설의 수명주기(life cycle) 단계，반입된 자료유형，컨소시엄 회원에게 제공되는 서비스의 종류와 수에 따라 연간 운영비용이 달라지기 때문이다. 이 수치는 단순히 시설 운영의 비용 범위에 대한 광범한 인상을 주기 위해서만 제공될 뿐임을 Reilly. Jr.은 지적하였다
