Trends Analysis of Open Access for Foreign and Domestic Scholarly Journals in the Field of Library and Information Science

국내외 문헌정보학 학술지의 오픈 액세스 동향 분석

Abstract

The major concern of scholarly communication system that consists of libraries, researchers, and publishers is scholarly journals. But there is a huge chasm between the groups that have their own respects and strategies, compensations, and rights about scholarly journals. This difference makes open access movement which has two strategies: Open Access Journal(OAJ) and Open Access Archives (OAA). This paper describes the current status and analyses serious limitations of OAJ and OAA, especially, including the present address in the field of library and information science.

도서관계, 연구 집단, 출판계로 구성되는 학술정보 유통시스템의 주요 관심사항은 학술지이며, 각각의 이해집단이 학술지에 거는 기대와 전략, 보상과 권리보호에 대한 서로의 입장에는 상당한 괴리가 존재한다. 이러한 입장 차이가 결국 오픈 액세스 잡지와 오픈 액세스 아카이빙을 전략적 수단으로 하는 오픈 액세스 운동을 가시화시키고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 오픈 액세스의 동향과 한계를 정리하고, 쟁점을 분석하고자 한다. 특히 오픈 액세스의 중심에서 그 당위성과 필요성을 논하던 국내외 문헌정보학 분야 오픈 액세스의 현주소를 분석하는데 목적이 있다.

DOAJ 의 문헌정보학 잡지는 71종이지만， [Journal of Southern Academic and Special Librarianship]은 2001년부터 [E-JASL: The Electronic Journal of Academic and Special Librarianship]으로 발행되고 있으며,[Bulletin of the Medical Library Association](1911년 Vol.1부터 현재까지 오픈 액세스로 접근 가능)는 2002년부터 [Journal of the Medical Library Association]으로 변경되었기 때문에 2종을 제외하면, 현재 발간 중인 DOAJ의 문헌정보학 잡지는 69종으로 DOAJ에 등재된 전체 OAJ(2,514종)의 2.8%에 불과하며，논문단위로 전문검색이 가능한 749종의 9.2%이다
  28. [First Monday](ISSN 1396-0458) 는 Ulrich 에서는 컴퓨터, 인터넷 잡지로 분류되어 있으나， EBSCO, WILSON, LISA에서 모두 문헌정보학 잡지로 분류되어 있다. Ulrich에서 문헌정보학에 포함되지는 않았지만，다른 DB에서 확인할 수 있는 문헌정보학 OAJ는 21종이다
