Abstract
KORMARC formats have been developed in accordance with type of materials at different times. The format was firstly developed and soon after with formats for serials, audiovisual materials, archival and manuscript materials. Although all of the formats were developed according to the same principles, there were same inconsistencies among them. However, there are solved above problems as integrating KORMARC bibliographic formats. First of all, the result was better than we had expected both unified cataloging rules and standard of a descriptive form as accepted KCR4. This study is to roughly analyze integrating process, integrating contents, and problems of KORMARC format.
KORMARC 형식은 지금까지 서지정보용, 전거통제용, 소장정보용으로 크게 3가지 종류의 형식이 개발되었으며, 이 가운데 서지정보용은 다시 매체별로 단행본용, 연속간행물용, 비도서자료용, 고서용으로 각각 발간되어 있어 도서관현장에서 사용상 불편한 점이 많았다고 할 수 있다. 이 연구는 그동안 KORMARC 형식 가운데 서지정보용이 매체별로 각각 발간되어 있었지만 하나의 통합서지용으로 발간하게 된 경위와 KORMARC 형식의 구체적인 통합내용을 개략적으로 분석하며, 또한 통합을 하였지만 여전히 잔존하고 있는 KORMARC 형식의 구조적인 문제점을 비롯하여 입력원칙의 미비, 필드의 반복 여부 등 보완해야 할 사항들을 분석한 후 개선 방안을 제시하고자 한다.
