An Analytical Study on Research Trends of the Master′s & Doctor′s Dissertations in the Field of Library & Information Science in Korea: 1959∼2002

This study is to represent the research trends of library & information science in Korea through an analysis of the master's and doctor's dissertations published from 1959 through 2002. The results of this study are as follows: The average yearly dissertations: 38.5 pieces; the year published the largest number of dissertations: 2002; the order of the number of dissertations by the domain of library ＆ information science: library management, information science, public service, organizing library materials, bibliography, collection development (management), history of books & libraries, foundations of library & information science.

이 연구는 1959∼2002년간의 문헌정보학분야 석ㆍ박사학위논문의 연구동향을 분석한 것이다. 이 연구의 결과를 요약하면, 1959∼2002년간의 연평균 발표량을 38.5편으로 나타났다. 그리고 연도별로는 2002년이 가장 많고, 영역별 연평균 발표량은 순위는 도서관경영, 정보학, 공공봉사, 자료조직, 서지학, 장서개발(관리), 도서 및 도서관사, 문헌정보학기초 순으로, 각 영역의 주제별로는 문헌정보학교육, 도서관경영론 전반, 분류법, 장서개발(관리) 일반, 참고 정보봉사, 분석서지학, 도서관사, 정보검색분야가 각 영역의 타 주제보다 높게 나타났다.
