Academic advising program-Current status of American and Korean colleges

학사지도교수 제도-국내외 현황

An academic advising program has been initiated by Yonsei University to help first-year students formulate sound educational and career plans. We analysed the program on the basis of organizational models of advising of American colleges. Represented by University college and academic advisor, it can be categorized as a compromised system of Split and Total-Intake models.

신입생의 대학생활 적응지원과 전공선택지도를 위하여 연세대학교에서는 학사지도교수제도를 도입하였다. 본 논문에서는 학사지도교수제도가 다양한 형태로 발달된 미국 대학의 사례를 중심으로 유형별 학사지도 체제의 장단점을 조사한 뒤, 연세대학교의 체제를 분석하였다. 신입생이 소속되는 학부대학과 학사지도교수로 대표되는 연세대학교 학사지도 체제는 분산형과 전체흡수형의 장점을 취하기 위한 절충형으로 분류된다.
