The Effects of the Level of Technology and the Number of Employees of Software Firms on Business Performance

소프트웨어업체의 기술수준과 종업원 수가 사업성과에 미치는 영향

The main purpose of this study is to find the determinant of business performance in Korean software firms. The findings of this study can be summarized as follows. First, the technology level of software firm produces an insignificant effect on business performance. Second, the number of development and marketing employees has a more significant effect on business performance than the level of technology.

본 논문에서는 소프트웨어 기업의 사업성과에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대해서, 기술과 인력변수를 중심으로 연구하였다. 구체적으로는 첫째, 소프트웨어업체의 사업성과가 기술수준에 의존하는지를 검정하였는데, 연구 결과 우리나라 소프트웨어 업체들의 경우 기술수준이 사업성과에 직접적인 영향을 미치지는 않는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 소프트웨어 세부 기술요소와 분야별 인력수준 중, 사업성과에 영향을 미치는 요인을 다중선형회귀모형을 통해 분석하였는데, 연구결과 수익률을 제외한 3가지 사업성과를 종속변수로 한 분석에서 유의한 회귀식이 도출되었으며, 대체적으로 기술관련 변수는 사업성과에 큰 영향을 미치지 못하고, 총인원과 기술인력 등의 인력구성변수가 보다 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
