Sensorial Evaluation Tests for Fabric Sound Using Sementic Differential Method

  • 발행 : 2001.11.01

초록

Sensorial tests were executed to find the sensibility and emotion brought about by the sound stimulus of 8 kinds of fabrics. 176 subjects participated in this test and they had the middle level of sensitive ear, sensitivity and sense discernment, and the high level of sense abundance, musical ability and musical hobby. The concepts of sensorial evaluation for fabric sound were extracted from 48 sensation adjectives, and divided to 7 groups by factor analysis: feel good, gooseflesh, strong, harsh/thick, light, dimension and ticklish. Without knowing the fiber types, subjects answered that the sound of flax and polyester-leno seemed like that of silk, thus they preferred it most. Woolen sound was thought as the strongest and the harshest, and polyestersurah was thought as the most gooseflesh. Silk sound was perceived to be the deepest and the widest. The prediction rate was high because 4 types among 8 were guessed correctly by the subjects by hearing the sound of the fabric only.
