A Study on the Development for the Korean Authority Database System

한국형 전거데이터베이스시스템의 개발에 관한 연구

Abstract

This study is a preliminary study to suggest an idea for the establishment of the Korean standard authority database system for Korean libraries. It analyzes in detail the current status of the mjor libraries in Korea operating authority system Because the authority work is very hard for a library to accomplish for its costs and efforts needed, it is desirable to establish and maintain the system through cooperative venture. It also investigates the problems to be followed and suggests the possible improvements for the system.

이 연구는 한국도서관의 표준적인 전거데이터베이스시스템을 구축하기 위한 방안을 모색하기 위한 기초적 연구로서 이루어진 것이다. 이를 위하여 현재 전거통제시스템을 운영하고 있는 주요도서관의 현황을 상세히 분석하였다. 또한 전거통제업무는 일개 도서관이 수행하기에는 비용과 노력의 면에서 많은 어려움이 따른다는 점에서, 도서관의 상호협력에 의한 시스템의 구축과 운영방안을 제안하였다. 아울러 이와 같은 시스템의 개발과 구축을 따를 수 있는 문제점과 개선방안을 제시하였다.
