Abstract
Th~ss tud is to recommend a suggestion to adapt and expand the class 200 Religon for Korean libraries using DDC. The grst art of it investigates the development and general problem of the options in 200 and leads to the conclusion t k t it is somewhat undesirable to use the options in the libraries of the nations m y religions are predominant, as in Korea. The second part of it recommends a su gestion. The major characteristic of it is that it not onl follows the basic systems and order of the DDC but a k suggests the plan that emphasizes the Budhsm andother religions of brea, Ouna, and Japan, for Korean libraries. It contracts the Christianity of 22@280 in oripl DDC lnto only one division 220, and rearran es the divisions 230-270 for the BudNusm and other religions oi the world so that various religons can be inc\ulcorneruded in the divisions. And it also su ests an alternative for the libraries that want to ernphaslzc the Buddhism and other religions of East-Asian anp~orean o r i p .
이 연구는 DDC를 사용하는 한국도서관에서 종교류를 재전개하기 위한 시안을 제시하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위하여 우선 DDC 의 종교류에 마련된 임의규정의 발전 과정과 문제점을 살펴보고, DDC 종교류의 임의규정은 단일종교가 그 나라에서 대표성을 갖는 경우에 대비한 것으로, 한국과 같이 다수의 종교가 공존하는 나라의 경우에는 이를 적용하기가 어렵다는 점을 밝혔다. 이 연구에서 제시한 재전개안의 특징은 DDC 의 기본적인 체계와 배열순서를 유지하면서도, 한국의 실정에 맞도록 불교와 동양의 종교를 강조할 수 있도록 한 점이다. 이를 위해 DDC 원안의 220-280의 7개 강에 전개된 기독교를 220 하나의 d로 축소하였고, 230부터 270에는 불교를 비롯한 그 밖의 종교를 배정하여, 여러종교간의 균형을 유지하였고, 특히 동양3국의 주요종교를 상위에 배치시켰다. 아울러 이 안에서는 불교와 동양종교, 한국종교를 강조하고자 할 경우에 대비한 별법(別法)도 제시하였다.
