Abstract
With the epichlorohydrin antral PIOi-methanesulfonic acid system, crosslinked chitosan phosphate(p-c-chitosan). a new biodegradable chelating polymer, was synthesized successfully as reported in the previous paper Metal ion adsorption characteristics and selectivity tests for p-c-chitosan were carried out in 100/200ppm of various metal ion standard solutions(Cu2+. Co2+, Ci2+, Cd2+, Nn2+) by batch method. The adsorption capacity vat measured by an Atomic Absontion Spectroscopy(AAS) with appropriate adsorption time interval. According to the results, it was elucidated that the adsorption capacity of p-c-chitosan was influenced by crosslinking ratio and phosphate content and p-c-chitosan showed high adsorption equilibrium rate as well as high adsorption cilpacity. And p-c-chitosan showed more selective adsorption of Co2+ than Cu2+ in 200ppm mixed solution or Cu2+/Co2+.
