Synthesis of Some Aminoazo Disperse Dyes

Abstract

Twelve aminoazobenzene disperse dyes were synthesized using two diazo components(4-nitroaniline, 2.4-dinitroaniline) antral six coupling components(aniline. N-methylaniline. N-ethylaniline. U,N-dimethylaniline, N,H-diethylanil me. N,U-P-dihyclroxyethylaniline) and their light absorption characteristics were investigated. The dyes were synthesized by two different methods according to the polarity of the substituents of diazo components. than were purified by the recrystallization method using ethanol and water as their solvents. The purity of dyes was confirmed by the thin layer chromatography and structures of the dyes were confirmed by the infrared spectrometry and the proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry. To investigate the light absorption characteristics of the tlyes, the absorption maximum(fax) and molar extinction coefficients were measured using a UV-Visiblc spcclrophotomcter.
