The Concept of Daylighting

자연 채광 방식의 개념

For the proper utilization of daylight in a building, an architect should be able to utilize the building enveloped as a filter to admit daylight into the building. The daylighting concepts commonly used in buildings are categorized as sidelighting, toplighting and atrium, and their lighting concepts and characteristics are discussed. The decision of the daylighting concepts for a building should be based on the analysis of the quantity, characteristics and directionality of daylight, and resulting contrast effect.

건축물 내에서 자연채광을 적절하게 활용하기 위하여는, 건축가는 건물의 외피를 주광을 건물 안으로 들여보내는 필터로 활용할 수 있어야 한다. 여기서는 건물에서 활용할 수 있는 자연채광 방식을 측창, 천창, 아트리움으로 나누어서 각각의 개념과 적용상의 유의점에 대하여 설명하였다. 건물에 적합한 자연채광의 개념은 건물에 필요한 자연채광의 양, 특징, 방향성과 이에 의한 대비 효과를 분석하여 결정하여야 한다.
