Emulsion Characteristics and Tensile Properties of Polyurethane Cationomers
폴리우레탄 양아이오노머의 에멀젼 특성 및 인장물성
Abstract
Polyurethane(PU) cationomers were synthesized from polypropylene glycol (PPG) isophorone diisocyanate(IPDI), and H-methyldiethanolamine(MDEA) using a prepolymer mixing process. Emulsions were obtained by adding water to the prepolymer solutions. Particle size and emulsion viscosity were studied as a function of the MDEA content. degree of neutralization and solid content of emulsion. It was found that at fixed solid content emulsion viscosity can be varied over 100 times depending on the MDEA content and degree of neutralization. Tensile properties of the emulsion cast film showed that modulus and strength increase with degree of neutralization as well as MDEA content.
