Abstract
In order to accelerate the effect of moisture on the mechanical properties of composite materials, T300/6005 system was treated with boiling water. The mechanical properties of pure epoxy and composites (longitudinal and transverse direction) were measured by the three-point-bending test as a function of boiling time. The single-fiber-bundle test and the scanning electron microscopy were used to characterize the interfacial bond strength between fiber and matrix. The dynamic mechanical analysis was also done to explain the role of moisture.
