Consideration on the Action of Carriers in the Cationic Dyebath

염기성 염욕내에서의 캐리어의 작용에 관한 고찰

The effectiveness of carrier as dyeing accelerator in the cationic dye-acrylic fibre system and the role of carrier film formed at the fibre surface were investigated in relation to the solubility of the dye in the carrier. Partition coefficients of three cationic dyes between carrier phase and carrier saturated aqueous solution were determined and taken as the measure of solubility of the dye in the carrier. The effect of hydrophobic carrier film on the rate of dyeing was studied using o-phenol phenol and compared to that of benzyl alcohol as a hydrophilir.
