Tetraethyleneglycol dimethacrylate(TGD) crosslinked macroreticular type polyacrylo- nitrile(PAN) was synthesized. Toluene added as different lowered the polymerizability of acrylonit- rile(AN) monomer, especially in low degree of crosslink. Maximum surface area of crosslinked PAN was observed at 60-9$0^{\circ}C$ dilution at all degree of crosslinking. TGD crosslinked PAN was easily swelled even with toluene, as a result of its low degree of crosslinking state caused by TGD crosslinking agent which has flexible molecular structure and hydrophilic properties. The cyclization side reaction was proposed during amidoximation reaction of PAN, probably due to cyclization reaction may be governed by the amount of CN group existed in PAN molecular main chain. Amidoximated PAN chelate resin has an excellent adsorption capacity for Cu+2, Cr+2, Cd-1 Fe+2, Pb+2, UOa+2, regardless of Ph and concentration of metalion.
