Abstract

Biacetylmonooxime(BAMO)and 3-oximino-2,4-pentanedione(OPDO) were synthesized from methylethylketone and acetylacetone, respectively. Oxime derivatives were synthesized from oximes with benzoylchloide, toluoylchloride, anisoylchloride, and ethylchloro carbonate. And oxime monomers, 2,3-butanedione-O-methacryloyloxime (BMO) and 2,4-pentanedione-O-methacryloyloxime (PMO) were synthesized from methacryloylchloride with BAMO and OPDO, respectively. Photodegradation of oxime derivatives was carried out by the irradiation of UV light in which the free radicals, produced during the photodegradation, could initiate vinyl monomer. The relative decomposition efficiency of oxime derivatives were estimated by comparing UV absorbance decreasing at λmax according to irradiation time. In addition, polymers containing oxime ester in pendant group, P(BMO-MMA) and P(PMO-MMA), were photografted with vinyl monomer, The graft yield of polymers increased with the mole fraction of BMO and PMO.
