Abstract

The methods of preparation of partially cyanoethylated cellulose with acrylonitrile that was emulsified in aqueous sodium hydroxide solution were described. The effect of changes in time, temperature, concentration of sodium hydroxide, and concentration of acrylonitrile on cyanoethylation was discussed. And the methods of preparation of 3-aminopropylcellulose from cyanoethyl cellulose by reduction of the cyano group with borane tetrahydrofuran complex in tetrahydrofuran and with lithium aluminium hydride in ether were discussed.
