Abstract

In order to investigate the effects of sectional warping parameters such as band spread, deviation in external diameter of band and taper angle deviation of sectional drum on the fabric characteristics such as bow, check pattern deforming and warpwise shrinkage, some experiments were carried out and the results were discussed. And the following conclusions were obtained. 1) The range of deviations in external diameter and in length of a section due to band spread were 10.9∼0.2cm and 13∼0.2m, respectively 2) The correlation coefficient between section length and external diameter of drum was 0.61 3) The lay factor of section was defined and it can be determined by the following: Lay factor of section=(ends per dent in front reed ${\times}$2.54/front reed number + width of section sparead) ${\times}$ no.of section 4) The constant k for correct taper angle of drun was defineed and it was found that averages of k were 4.89 for worsted warp and 4.68 for polyester/299l blend warp, respectively.
