Abstract

The crystal form, weight fraction of γ-α form, crystallinity, crystallite size and initial modulus of nylon 6 film which had drawn at various temperatures (100, 120, 140, 160, 180, 200, 220℃) and times (1, 5, 30, 60, 180min.) were measured by WAXD, density gradient method and tensile test. Below 160℃ of annealing temperature γ crystals were formed and above 200℃ α crystals were formed prominently. By drawing γ crystals were changed to α crystals. It was considered that, by drawing, the molecular chain of γ crystals which were twisted slightly to the molecular axis was stretched (16.88Å→17.2Å) and the hydrogen bond which had been conformed in the parallel intermolecular chain was reformed in the antiparallel intermolecular chain. The drystallinity and the crystallite size were increased with the annealing temperature and the treating time. At the each annealing temperature, the increasement of crystallinity and crystallite size was almost saturated above the treating time of 60 min. The initial modulus was also increased with the annealing temperature and the treating time. By drawing it was increased more remarkably. It can be explained by the Peterlin's model of plastic deformation and fibril structure.
