초록

Sodium cellulosates of cotton fabrics were prepared by means of an ion exchange reaction between the preswollen cotton fabrics and various sodium alkoxides in corresponding alcohol; sodium methoxide in methanol, sodium ethoxide in ethanol, sodium n-butoxide in n-butanol and sodium n-propoxide in n-propanol. As a result, the degree of sodium metallation (mol/AGU) was remarkably enhanced by the addition of dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) or pyridine to the system as a cosolvent. And the demetallation reaction was significantly affected by the degree of acidity, electron donating power, Taft polar substituent constant $\delta$ and Dielectric constant $\varepsilon$ of the alcohol which was used as a demetallation solvent. No significant change in mechanical properties was observed when breaking strength, elongation to rupture and crease angle were checked for regenerated cotton fabrics.
