Abstract

A unit structure model of 1 ${\times}$1 rib knitted fabric in limited stretch state is presented for the purpose of theoretical calculation of the uni-axial tensile properties of the fabrics. An equation relating to the course-spacing, the wale-spacing, the stitch length and yarn diameter was obtained by the model The stitch length may be formulated as the following equation.
