Abstract

The structures of the simplex knit fabrics were made of double faced single tricot theoretically, but its tensile properties is very different from the single tricot's. Simplex's tensile properties is divided into two regions, i.e, the structural effective region and the yarn's tensile region. This study was made on the theoretical modeling of the simplex stitch with relation to the yarn's tensile properties. After comparing experimental and theoretical ones between two regions, we obtained the following results: 1. The theoretical results were correlated well to the experimental's. 2. The factors relating to the tensile properties were devided to such properties as wale and course density, needle gauge between front and back needles, and thickness of the knit fabrics. 3. If it is possible to analyse of stitch length of the simplex fabrics, knit contraction of the simplex fabrics could be obtainable.
