Studies on Pilling Characteristics of Acrylic Knitted Fabrics
초록
The effect of resin treatment, varying in knitted density, use of cotton or wool blended yarn and increase in setting temperature, on the pilling characteristics of acrylic knitted fabric is inverstigated. The treatment of acrylic knitted fabric with anti-static agent is found to be effective in increasing the pilling resistance and to decrease the abrasion resistance. The considerable reduction in the weight of pills is noticed with demised knitted fabrics in spite of increase in the number of pills. It is shown that acrylic fabrics knitted from cotont or wool blened yarn have a slight pilling tendency while those knitted from all acrylic yarn fabrics get more pills as the pilling test time is prolonged. An increase in setting temperature is shown to be uneffective in decreasing pills althought the number of Pills is slightly decreased.
