닭의 혈청으로 구성되는 항혈청과 이에 특이한 항원과의 결합물에는 기니픽의 보체가 결합되지 못해서 직접보체결합반응이 불가능하다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 개량보체결합반응으로 아직 실현되지 못한 계두의 보체결합반응을 가능케 하였다. 이 연구에서 얻은 실험성적은 다음과 같다. (1) 계두의 개량보체결합반응에 관한 방법을 발전시켰다. (2) 계두독에 감염된 계태아의 장뇨막으로 만든 항원의 성상을 밝혔다. (3) 계두 및 구두독의 독주별 특이성과 닭에 있어서의 항체형성과정을 밝혔다.
