Abstract
A semi-anechoic termination is necessary in the muffler transmission loss test rig in order to suppress the sound reflection effects in the downstream. The reflected sound can distort the measured transmission loss curves. However, there exists only general guide about how to manufacture a semi-anechoic termination. In this study, Taguchi's method was used to design a semi-anechoic termination more efficiently.
