Abstract
The combustion characteristics of the disilicides molybdenum system have been studied experimentally. The pertinent reaction parameters that control self-propagating high temperature synthesis reactions have been examined. These include reactant particle size, powder mixing and compaction, reaction stoichiometry, diluents.
