Emerging Role of Primary Leader in Group Interaction with Mechanics Problems During Upper-level Mechanics Course

  • According to social constructivism, group interaction is very important when students construct their knowledge. Many researchers have developed methods of teaching on the basis of group interaction because they recognized the importance of group interaction. There are a large variety of issues related to group interaction including group size, the gender and ability composition of groups, seating arrangements, textbook use, gestures, and role assignments. However, research on group interaction in science learning is still insufficient. In this study, we focused upon the emerging role of the primary leader. We investigated the primary leader's diverse role when students are solving mechanics problems. The participants were one group composed of three students in an upper-level mechanics class. To analyze these students' group interactions, their verbal interactions during meetings were videotaped and audiotaped during one-semester period. We also conducted interviews with the three students and analyzed their reports. As a result, we could find a special student who had the role of primary leader. We could also find the leader's three different leadership roles in different problem situations by inductively; explainer, facilitator and evaluator. Group interaction had different aspect according to the different role of leaders. The group interactions were the most active when the leader played the role of facilitator.

임파워링 리더십이 리더-구성원 교환관계, 리더신뢰 및 역할 내 행동에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Empowering Leadership on Leader-Member Exchange, Leader Trust and In-role Behavior)

  • 본 연구에서는 임파워링 리더십이 리더-구성원 교환관계(LMX: Leader-Member Exchange), 리더신뢰, 역할 내 행동에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 임파워링 리더십과 역할 내 행동의 관계에 있어서 LMX와 리더신뢰의 매개역할을 검증하였다. 양산, 울산, 경주의 중소기업 종사자를 대상으로 설문조사를 하였으며 289명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였다. 전반적인 기술통계분석과 탐색적 요인분석을 위해 SPSS 18.0을 사용하였다. AMOS 18.0을 사용하여 연구변수의 타당성을 파악하기 위한 확인적 요인분석과 연구가설을 검증하고자 공분산 구조분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 임파워링 리더십은 LMX, 리더신뢰에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 임파워링 리더십은 역할 내 행동에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, LMX은 리더신뢰와 역할 내 행동에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 리더신뢰는 역할 내 행동에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 임파워링 리더십과 역할 내 행동 간의 관계에서 LMX와 리더신뢰가 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과에 근거하여 조직구성원의 역할 내 행동을 높이기 위해서 리더의 임파워링 리더십을 통한 LMX과 리더신뢰를 강화시켜야 함을 시사하고 있다.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between justice factors and organizational citizenship behavior through the role of leader-member exchange. It is expected that leader-member exchange was mediated on the relationship between justice factors and organizational citizenship behavior. According to this result. leader-member exchange mediate between justice factors and organizational citizenship behavior, also justice factors direct effected to organizational citizenship behavior. Resultingly organizational citizenship behavior effected on justice factors and leader-member exchange. And mediated effect of leader-member exchange was positively related to between justice factors and organizational citizenship behavior As a result, this study is to be more useful to manage employees in organization.

가상현실을 활용한 소집단 협력학습에서 팀 구성원으로서의 역할 수행이 학업성취도와 만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Performing Leader's Role on Academic Achievement and Satisfaction in Small Group Collaborative Learning in Virtual Reality)

  • 본 연구는 실제 학교 현장에서 첨단 테크놀로지를 활용한 소집단 학습을 적용한 연구를 행하고자 고등학교 국사수업에 세컨드라이프라는 가상현실을 활용한 소집단 협력학습을 실시하고, 가상현실을 활용한 협력학습 활동에서 팀 구성원으로서의 역할(리더, 팀원) 수행이 학업성취도와 만족도에 미치는 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 고등학교 2학년 2개 학습을 선정 후, 무선적으로 20개 팀으로 구성하고 이를 또 팀별 리더 집단(20명)과 팀원집단(40명)으로 무선 할당하였다. 학업성취도와 학업활동 만족도를 측정도구로 활용하여 양적자료를 수집하고, 독립표본 t 검증을 실시하였다. 그 결과 가상현실을 활용한 협력학습 활동에서의 리더 역할 수행이 고등학생의 학업성취도와 학업활동 만족도 증진에 긍정적인 효과를 지니는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 연구 결과를 기반으로 향후 가상현실을 활용하는 소집단 협력학습의 교육 현장에서의 활용 및 개선에 대한 제언이 논의되었다.

간호 대학생이 인식하는 실무현장의 효과적 환경을 위한 간호리더자의 역할유형분석 (The role type analysis of nursing leader for effective environment at the practice field that nursing students recognize - Q methodology -)

  • 간호 대학생은 임상실습기간동안 실무현장에서 다양한 학습을 하게 되며 특히 간호 리더자의 역할에 대한 중요성과 그 효과에 대해 인식하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 간호대학생이 실습 과정에서 경험한 효과적 실무환경을 위해 간호리더자의 역할에서 중요하게 작용하고 있는 부분이 무엇인지를 분석하여 그 유형을 분류하고자 한다. 이에 본 연구방법은 간호 대학생이 심층적으로 어떻게 인식하고 있는지를 파악하기 위해 Q방법을 적용하여 분석하였다. 연구 참여자는 간호대학생으로 실습 경험이 있는 자로 30명으로 구성하였고, Q표본은 간호리더자의 역할유형과 관련된 문헌, 임상실습을 경험한 학생과의 인터뷰를 통해 최종 표본을 36개의 진술문으로 구성 하였으며, QUANL PC프로그램으로 주요인을 분석하여 관련 유형을 분류하였다. 연구결과로 간호학생들이 인식하는 간호리더자의 역할유형은 4개의 유형으로 나타났으며, 제1유형은 "정의와 냉철함 유지형", 제2유형은 "동기부여를 위한 환경조성 형", 제3유형은 "인격존중 및 능력신장형", 제4유형은 "신뢰성을 통한 인간관계 중심형"으로 분류되었다. 본 연구 과정을 통해 간호학생이 실습과정에서 경험하는 실무현장의 효과적 환경을 위해 간호 리더자의 역할을 파악하여 추후 실무 환경을 위해 리더자의 역할의 중요성을 제안하고 이를 개선하는데 근거자료를 마련하고자 한다.

학생4-H 지도교사의 자기효능감 및 역할갈등에 관한 연구 (A Study on Self-Efficacy and Role Conflict of 4-H Leaders)

  • The objectives of this study were to measure role conflict of 4-H leaders and to verify the differences of role conflict and self-efficacy according to individual characteristics. The data were collected from 99 leaders who took charge of guiding 4-H youth organization in school as teacher advisor. The statistical techniques used for this study were frequency, t-test, one-way analysis of variance and correlation. The major findings of this study were as follows; 1) The 4-H leaders had some role conflict and role ambiguity in guiding youth activities in the school. 2) The leader advisor group with teaching experience of $5{\sim}9$ years showed higher role conflict and lower role ambiguity. 3) The 4-H leaders with age over 45 felt higher role conflict and lower role ambiguity. 4)The leaders' self-efficacy was positively correlated with self esteem, and negatively associated with role ambiguity.

교사의 전문성 개발을 위한 학습모임에 관한 질적 연구 (A Qualitative Study on the Teachers' Professional Learning Communities)

  • Professionalizing the teaching workforce has been recognized as one of the primary factors to reforming public education. In response to this challenge, it has been emphasized that an educational leader's role is to support professional learning communities more effectively. Although the academia of educational administration has increasingly drawn the significance of a teacher's professional development, understanding of an educational leader's role and contribution to this effort is quite limited and unclear. This article examines what factors and barriers affect teachers' participation in professional learning communities from the voices and experiences of teachers. The analysis found 1) identification, 2) autonomous will, 3) practical solution for factors to participation and 1) lack of theoretical foundation, 2) financial burden, 3) insufficient time for barriers to participation. In conclusion, the author suggests the strategies for an educational leader who has an important role in developing a teacher's professionalism: 1) create a strong network of university professors and other experts for career advice, 2) make an institutional effort to stimulate teachers' motivation to learn; 3) decrease the teachers' workload, 4) build a synthesized and consolidated system to establish communities.

오피니언 리더의 행위가 온라인 학습에서 콘텐츠 만족도와 운영 만족도에 미치는 영향: 사회적 지능의 매개효과를 중심으로 (Effects of Opinion Leader Behavior on E-learning Satisfaction: The Mediating Role of Social Intelligen)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 오피니언 리더의 정보 매개 행위와 영향력 행사 행위가 온라인 학습의 콘텐츠 만족도와 운영 만족도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가, 그리고 이러한 영향 관계는 사회적 지능에 의해 매개되고 있는 가를 실증적으로 규명하고자 하였다. 이론적 연구를 통해 오피니언 리더의 행위를 정보매개 행위와 영향력 행사 행위로 분석하고 학습만족도를 콘텐츠 만족도와 운영만족도로 구분했다. 관련이론과 선행연구를 기반으로 하여 가설을 설정하였으며, 연구 목적에 맞게 온라인 대학원 학생 300명을 대상으로 3주간 온라인 설문조사를 실시하여 153부의 설문지를 회수하였으며 이를 PLS 통계 프로그램을 이용해 실증분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과를 살펴보면 첫째, 오피니언 리더의 정보 매개 행위와 영향력 행사 행위는 오피니언 리더의 사회적 지능에 정(+)의 영향력을 보였다. 둘째, 오피니언 리더의 사회적 지능은 온라인 학습 콘텐츠와 운영 만족도에 정(+)의 영향력을 보였다. 셋째, 오피니언 리더의 정보 매개 행위는 온라인 학습 콘텐츠와 운영 만족도에 영향을 미쳤으나 사회적 지능을 거쳐서도 영향을 미쳤기 때문에 부분 매개되었으며, 오피니언 리더의 영향력 행사 행위는 온라인 학습 콘텐츠와 운영 만족도에 사회적 지능을 통해 완전 매개된 형태를 보였다.

리더 조직시민행동의 사회적 학습 효과 (Social Learning Effect of Leader's OCB on Follower's OCB)

  • According to the social learning theory, leader' organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) is a predisposing factor for follower' OCB, because they acknowledge and imitate leader as a desirable example of behaviors for organizational and individual success. We investigate social learning effect of leader OCB on follower OCB and examine the moderating role of political skill in the mediated relationship between leaders OCB and follower OCB (with followers' affective organizational commitment as the mediator). We find that follower's affective organizational commitment may mediate the relationship between leader OCB and follower OCB. Furthermore, we find that follower with high political skill may focus on the instrumental value of OCB. Political skill moderates the relationship between follower' affective organizational commitment and follower OCB. Data from 325 leader-follower dyads support the hypothesis. Theoretical and practical implications of these findings are also discussed.

유통기업 리더의 코칭행동이 구성원의 조직시민행동과 이직의도에 미치는 영향: 진정성리더십의 매개효과와 감성지능의 조절효과 (The Effect of Distribution Enterprise Leader's Coaching Behavior on Organizational Citizenship Behavior and Turnover Intention: Mediating Role of Authentic Leadership and Moderating Role of Emotional Intelligence)

  • Purpose - In accordance with the recent changes in the management environment, leaders are required to have an ability of drawing and inducing potential of each worker. Coaching, as one of the strategies of human resources development, is drawing people's attention. This study aims to inquire about the mechanism of leader's coaching behavior which influences the attitude and behavior of workers. Firstly, this study intends to illustrate what kind of influences the leader's coaching behavior can give on organizational citizenship behavior and turnover intention of workers. Secondly, it plans to verify the mediating effect of authentic leadership in the relationship between leader's coaching behavior and organizational citizenship behavior and turnover intention of workers. Thirdly, it aims to prove the moderating effect of emotional intelligence in the relationship among leader's coaching behavior, organizational citizenship behavior and turnover intention of workers. Research design, data and methodology - In order to figure out how the leader's coaching behavior influences attitude of workers, authentic leadership is considered as mediating effect. As for a moderating effect, we have determined emotional intelligence which attracts attention in the recent studies on organizational behavior, so as to investigate the correlation among variables. As for study sample, it was targeted to 236 organizational members of distribution corporations whose leader's coaching behavior is required. For reaching the purpose of study, SPSS 20 was applied for the analysis. Results - The research findings can be summarized as follows: Firstly, leader's coaching behavior gives significant positive influences on organizational citizenship behavior. Moreover, leader's coaching behavior gives negative influences on turnover intention of organizational members. Secondly, the mediating effect of authentic leadership was proved in the relationship between leader's coaching behavior and attitude of workers. Based on the analysis, it turned out that authentic leadership doesn't give a mediating effect in the bilateral relationship. Lastly, the moderating effect of emotional intelligence was proved in terms of how the leader's coaching behavior influences the attitude of workers. The research result shows that the emotional intelligence influences towards the negative direction, in the correlation between coaching behavior and organizational citizenship behavior On the other hand, in the relationship with turnover intention, It was significant effect. Conclusions - Based on the research findings, we have intended to inquired about the mechanism of leader's coaching behavior which influences the attitude and behavior of workers. Furthermore, in the operational level, the following implications can be given: the importance of coaching activation in the operational level was confirmed, through inquiring into the influence of leader's coaching behavior on workers. Moreover, the importance of emotional intelligence, which has been steadily raised, was also confirmed. It is necessary for future study to carry out additional research on various factors of coaching which can influence the effectiveness of coaching, for instance, coaching process, coach's competency, characteristics of coaching customers, relationship with coaching customers and coaching system.
