  • This study aims to understand the determinants and effects of SNS photo sharing on festival satisfaction among teenage festivalgoers, to derive strategies that festival organizers could employ to maintain long-term relationships with their audience. In this paper, we followed the festival attribute and SNS photo sharing behavior approaches for developing measurement constructs, by investigating previous related studies. Statistical analyses revealed that festival attributes positively impact consumer perceptions of festival value, which in turn influences SNS photo sharing behavior and festival satisfaction. In addition, SNS photo sharing behavior has a significant mediation effect on the process. Moreover, the differing intensities of SNS usage among the festivalgoers resulted in consumers presenting significantly different SNS photo sharing behavior. Our findings offer insights for marketers in the festival business who are interested in gaining a better understanding of the behavior of teenage festivalgoers.

  • As the size of camera modules is decreasing and as the computing performance of portable devices is improving, taking photos has become a part of daily life. However, existing photo management programs and products that manage such photos still require extensive user effort to facilitate the sharing and browsing of images. It is especially difficult for novice users to manage and share photos. In this paper, we develop a round-robin concept-driven user preference feedback mechanism for achieving direct photo sharing, instant display, and easy management using optimized user controls and user preference-driven classification. Compared with commercial photo management systems, our proposed solution provides new features: optimized user controls, direct sharing and instant display, and user preference feedback driven classification. These new features boost the round-robin concept-driven user preference feedback. This paper proposes a photo finder that automatically searches for photos in storage spaces or cameras. The proposed photo finder relies on user preference feedback to share photos by leveraging user preferences, and the round-robin connection transmits photos to the family's digital photo frame or web album by arbiter. The proposed method saves time and spares users the effort required for photo management. Moreover, this method does not merely direct photo sharing and simple photo management, but it also increases the satisfaction level of users viewing the photos.

  • Nowadays, owing to the diffusion of smartphones and the growth of social networking services (SNS), the number of people who share their life with other SNS users by posting photos is increasing. The number of Instagram users has been particularly increasing since Instagram started its service in 2010. Compared to other SNS such as Facebook and Twitter, Instagram runs its service by focusing solely on photos, which is a major differentiation factor compared with other existing SNS. Previous studies, however, do not examine SNS that focus on photo sharing adequately. Therefore, we establish a hypothesis relating to the motivations behind a user's photo sharing attitude and posting intention through Instagram. Moreover, this will be achieved by employing TRA(Theory of Reasoned Action) and focusing on intrinsic and extrinsic motivations. The analysis results show that intrinsic motivation influences a user's sharing attitude and subjective norms. Apart from this, Instagram's expressivity influences a user's photo sharing attitude and posting intention.

  • This paper introduces a new method for storing a private key. This method can be achieved by dividing the private key into "n" pieces by a (k, n) secret sharing method, and then storing each piece into photo files utilizing a steganography method. In this way, a user can restore a private key as long as he can remember the locations of "k" photos among the entire photo files. Attackers, meanwhile, will find it extremely difficult to extract the private key if a user has hidden the pieces of the private key into numerous photo files stored in the system. It also provides a high degree of user convenience, as the user can restore the private key from his memory of k positions among n photo files. Coupled with this, a certain level of security can be guaranteed because the attacker cannot restore a private key, even if he knows k-1 photo file locations.

  • The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze the factors influencing user's intention to share photos in Instagram, a representative SNS whose main function is photo sharing. For this purpose, based on the results of reviewing related literature such as uses and gratification theory, the motivation factors for use that are expected to influence the formation of positive perception of Instagram users are derived. The results of empirical analysis of 251 Instagram users are as follows. First, the archive, self-expression, and social relations of Instagram have a positive effect on the usefulness. Second, Instagram's self-expression, social relationship and playfulness were found to have a positive effect on favorable attitude. Lastly, the user's perceived usefulness on Instagram has a positive effect on the favorable attitude, and both the usefulness and favorable attitude have a positive effect on the to photo sharing intention. Based on the results of this study, strategic implications were drawn to enable the spread of services through the positive recognition and the improvement of photo sharing intention of Instagram users.

  • With the advancement in the area of cloud storage services as well as a tremendous growth of social networking sites, permission for one web service to act on the behalf of another has become increasingly vital as social Internet services such as blogs, photo sharing, and social networks. With this increased cross-site media sharing, there is a upscale of security implications and hence the need to formulate security protocols and considerations. Recently, OAuth, a new protocol for establishing identity management standards across services, is provided as an alternative way to share the user names and passwords, and expose personal information to attacks against on-line data and identities. Moreover, OwnCloud provides an enterprise file synchronizing and sharing that is hosted on user's data center, on user's servers, using user's storage. We propose a secure Social Networking Site (SSN) access based on OAuth implementation by combining two novel concepts of OAuth and OwnCloud. Security analysis and performance evaluation are given to validate the proposed scheme.

  • The recent small-scaled family form is making a great influence on sharing pictures of their children with family as well. As parents are usually taking pictures of their children with their smart-phones, the form of sharing pictures with families through SNS or text messages or uploading pictures of their children in mobile mini-homepage is becoming prominent these days. But when events of an each family member taking pictures occur, such as in 'the hundredth day party' or 'first birthday party' and exchange them through text messages or SNS, it would be difficult to gather their children's picture and view them all together other than the ones that they took themselves as it is difficult to send each and every picture. Also, another problem of managing pictures occur because the source of picture all differ from each other. There fore, to solve these problems, this study intends to suggest a co-family managerial photo management mobile application UI for family members to participate in gathering and organizing pictures that they took with their own smart-phones in a specific space and produce a mobile album.

  • Due to the popular use of digital camera, a great number of photos are taken at every usage of camera. It is essential to reveal relationship between photos to manage digital photos efficiently. We propose a method that tessellates image into unit blocks and applies 2D alignment to extend content-based similar region from seed block pair having high similarity. Through an alignment, we can get a block region scoring best matching value on whole image. The method can distinguish whether photos are sharing the same object or background. Our result is less sensitive to transition or pause change of objects. In experiment, we show how our alignment method is applied to real photo and necessities for further research like photo clustering and massive photo management.
