  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between intrinsic motivation and learning outcomes of nursing college students who took the Fundamentals of nursing as a problem-based learning method. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, we identified the intrinsic motivations of 114 nursing students who completed problem-based learning using the Intrinsic Motivation Inventory. The t-test was conducted to identify differences according to intrinsic motivation, and correlation analysis was performed to confirm the relationship between intrinsic motivation and learning outcomes. Results: The group with higher intrinsic motivation showed higher scores in all domains of self-assessed learning outcomes than the lower group. It was the 'Relatedness with an instructor' that showed the highest correlation with the learning outcomes in the domains of intrinsic motivation. Conclusion: Problem-based learning is an effective learning method for cultivating the competencies needed for nurses. The intrinsic motivation of students is an important factor in the performance of problem-based learning. For the efficiency of problem-based learning, efforts should be made to develop and apply autonomy-supportive interventions that can enhance intrinsic motivation.

  • Purpose - Our research aims to investigate the mediating effect of employee creativity on the relationship between intrinsic motivation and job performance using relationship using Chinese department salespeople samples. Another objective of this study is to be clear boundary conditions that strengthen or weaken the effects of intrinsic motivation on work outcomes (i.e., employee creativity and job performance). Drawing on JD-R theory, we suggest that the two types of coworker support play differential moderating roles in the intrinsic motivation, employee creativity relationship by increasing or decreasing job resources and demands in different ways. Research design, data, and methodology - This empirical study data were collected from gathered from a sample of full time salespeople in China. A total of 550 questionnaires were distributed and 300 responses were collected, indicating a response rate of 84.0%. Working with a sample of 300 salespeople working in a department store in China. SPSS 18.0, Process 2.16 Macro, and M-Plus 8.0 software were used in the data analysis. Descriptive statistics were used to evaluate the distribution of the employee profiles and correlations between variables. M-Plus 8.0 software was used to test the model fit, validity and reliability of the variables. Finally, all research hypotheses was estimated by SPSS Macro 2.16. Results - To test our research hypotheses, we employed an analytical strategy suggested by Hayes (2013; 2015) and Shrout and Bolger (2002). In this study, we tested the relationship between intrinsic motivation and job performance throughout employee creativity. Results showed intrinsic motivation and job performance was partially mediated by employee creativity. The positive relationship between intrinsic motivation and employee creativity when coworker emotional support was high than when it was low. In contrast, the positive association between intrinsic motivation and employee creativity was stronger when coworker instrumental support was low than when it was high. Coworker emotional and instrumental support further moderated the indirect effect of intrinsic motivation on job performance through employee creativity. Conclusions - This study extends the conceptual model and empirical researches in coworker supports literature by representing a fundamental mechanism of how salespeople's intrinsic motivation and job performance throughout employee creativity.

These relationships were examined by targeting the employees working full-time for five star deluxe hotels. Total number of 230 responses had been collected out of 250 cases requested and he number of 213 cases was used for the final analysis. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling with SPSS 19.0 and AMOS 7 software program. The results suggested that psychological safety is significantly associated with intrinsic motivation. Furthermore, the hotel employees' problem identification, information searching & coding, and idea generation are affected by intrinsic motivation. That is, intrinsic motivation plays a significant role for each sub-factors of creative process engagement in the hotel industry. • The study intended to investigate the relationship between transformational leadership and creativity of cooks with transformational leadership as antecedent variable. Transformational leadership has been assessed positively in variable studies as a leadership to improve employee's creativity. The authors also tried to explore structural relationships among transformational leadership, intrinsic motivation, and creativity by identifying the meditating role of intrinsic motivation in the relationship between transformational leadership and creativity of cooks. The study subject was CJ FOODVILLE, which is a representative company with its size, sales, and recognition as a domestic restaurant business. A survey was conducted with employees who were working as a cook in restaurants operated by CJ FOODVILLE in metropolitan areas. The results of the study showed that charisma and intellectual stimulation of transformational leadership positively influenced intrinsic motivation, but inspirational motivation and individualized consideration did not significantly influence intrinsic motivation. In addition, the four elements of transformational leadership did not significantly affect creativity. The findings of the study show that intrinsic motivation played a role as a mediation among charisma, intellectual stimulation, and creativity of transformational leadership. Therefore, the findings of the study suggested intrinsic motivation as an important factor affecting creativity of cooks.

  • Tests of intrinsic-extrinsic motivation, self-efficacy, and creativity were administered to 75 college students. Results were analyzed by Pearson's correlation, partial correlation and Barron and Kenny's(1986) model. The main results were that (1) creativity was positively correlated with intrinsic motivation and negatively correlated with extrinsic motivation. (2) Self-efficacy played an important mediating role in the relationship between extrinsic motivation and creativity, but not in the relationship between intrinsic motivation and creativity, suggesting that extrinsic motivation negatively affects creativity because it lowers self-efficacy, which is intimately related with creativity. (3) The negative effect of extrinsic motivation on creativity was explained by such sub-factors of self-efficacy as self-confidence and preference for difficult tasks, but not by self-regulatory efficacy.

  • The purpose of the study is to analyze the influence of the accomplishing pressure of teachers and parents on academic achievement in mathematics in accordance with the differences in the degree of intrinsic motivation in mathematics. The accomplishing pressure of teachers was meaningful on the academic achievement in mathematics in the analysis including the interaction of intrinsic motivation in mathematics. The students with high degree of intrinsic motivation were influenced in a negative manner. Meanwhile the students with middle or low degree of intrinsic motivation were influenced in a positive manner. The result implies that it is more important to consider the level of mathematical intrinsic motivation, when teachers accomplish an achievement pressure to improve academic achievement in mathematics. On the analysis including the interaction of intrinsic motivation of mathematics, the accomplishing pressure of parents showed positive effect in general on the academic achievement in mathematics. The students with high or middle degree of intrinsic motivation were highly influenced in a positive manner than the students with low degree of intrinsic motivation. The result implies the necessity of the implementation of continuous accomplishing pressure on students as the high degree of accomplishing pressure of parents leads to positive influence on the academic achievement in mathematics.
