  • Fuzzy Systems which are based on membership functions and rules, can control nonlinear, uncertain, complex systems well. However, Fuzzy logic controller(FLC) has problems; It is difficult to design the stable FLC and FLC depends mainly on individual experience. Although FLC can be designed using the error back-propagation algorithm, it takes long time to converge into global, optimal parameters. Well-developed linear system theory should not be replaced by FLC, but instead, it should be suitably used with FLC. A new methodology is introduced for designing THEN-PART membership functions of FLC based on its well-tuned state feedback controller. A example of inverted pendulum is given for demonstration of the robustness of proposed methodology.

  • Adaptive Fuzzy control system is very powerful in nonlinear system, but That system require exactly membership function and parameter. If the membership function and parameter are not exact, the system will generate chattering. Using the Pole assignment compensator can remove the chattering and steepest descent method can reduce the convergence time. In this Paper, this algorithm applicate to the Inverted pendulum, so save proof of algorithm that is to be vigorous.

  • This paper describes the development of a fuzzy gain scheduling scheme of PID controller for inverted pendulum system. Fuzzy rules and reasoning are utilized on-line to determine the controller parameters based on the error signal and its difference. Simulation results demonstrate that better control performance can be achieved in comparison with PID controller using pole placement to control of a Inverted pendulum.

  • We are analyzed the characteristics of maximum thrust and normal force for new model of HB typed LSM by using Finite Element Method and Virtual Work Method. As a result of this paper, it is confirmed that maximum thrust of the enhanced LSM increased 30% without increasing the input energy and the normal force.

  • One of the important problems in a control system design is the requirement that the system should have adequate relative stability. In this paper, We proposed a tuning algorithm PI controller for first order plus dead time system. It is determined the domain of the PI control parameters by Routh - Hurwitz criterion, and we tune parameters of the PI controller using genetic algorithm. A numerical example is also given to illustrate the method.

  • A volumetric 3D display system based on a rotating two dimensional color LED array is set up. It has a cylinder display space ${\Phi}800{\times}640mm3$ which is composed of 256 slices of pictures in one 3D image with each slice $320{\times}256$ LED pixels. The volumetric image has 4 gray scales and 64 colors. The main structure and working principle of the system is described in detail.

  • Instrumentation radar in a test range has an important role to measure target's TSPI(time, space, position, information). It is well known that it tracks a target stably using a beacon mode. But it may fail to track a target in a certain region using a beacon mode. In this paper, we modeled a simple missile shape similar to ATCMS with two beacon antenna and analyzed an antenna radiation pattern using MLFMM(Multi Level Fast Multipole Method) method. Using the analyzed result of the radiation pattern of the antenna and the attitude data of target, we simulated beacon tracking performance of an instrumentation radar. As a result of simulation, we showed that an instrumentation radar may lose the target because it tracks a area of the beacon antenna pattern.

  • A volumetric three-dimensional (3D) display system was presented, which utilizes a rotating two-dimensional (2D) display panel of light emitting diodes (LEDs) to generate more than 10 million volume pixels (voxels) within a cylindrical volume of 165 mm in height and 292 mm in diameter. Due to persistence of vision, momentarily addressed voxel information is perceived and fused into a 3D image. Important cues for depth perception, such as binocular parallax, accommodation, convergence and motion parallax are satisfied automatically and naturally, thus it is suitable for individual or group viewing, without the need for any special visual aids.

  • Genetic algorithm is well known for stochastic searching method in imitating natural phenomena. In recent times, studies have been conducted in improving conventional evolutionary computation speed and promoting precision. This paper presents an approach to optimize PID controller gains with the application of modified Genetic Algorithm using Support Vector Machine (SVMGA). That is, we aim to explore optimum parameters of PID controller using SVMGA. Simulation results are given to compare to those of tuning methods, based on Simple Genetic Algorithm and Ziegler-Nicholas tuning method.
