Analysis of SMPS Characteristics applying Ground Plane Layer (Ground Plane레이어를 적용한 SMPS 특성분석)

  • To verity the effect of PCB plane layer to the output characteristics of the Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS), this paper compared with a generic one-layer PCB and a double-side PCB. This paper specially focused on the voltage, the current and the high frequency noise of the output characteristic of the SMPS, using a double-side PCB which has same layout and was installed a ground plane on the opposite side. This double-side PCB was assembled by all same components which used on the SMPS using the single-side PCB. The experiment results show the SMPS using the ground plan PCB can efficiently reduce the high frequency noise to 50mV at 100MHz from 150mV in the single-side PCB. And the results also show the high harmonics frequency was reduced as well.

  • In the present study, we aimed to obtain multi jig that PCB sheet with several PCB component can cut in a short time as to the Separation of PCB component. PCB supporter designed safely at the base frame and each model can be separable. it completed the neodium magnet for the fixing of the upper part laser transmission hole of the both. One of the development, the cutting working with one base frame which PCB component of various standard, fixing of module and bridge connected to PCB component could be possible. and it reduced the inconvenience which has to replace the base frame and PCB sheet fixed member. It compared to other press up about 70% of accuracy and a reduction in investment cost was about 400%.

  • According as the patterns of PCB (Printed Circuit Board) become denser and complicated, quality and accuracy of PCB influence the performance of final product. It's attempted to obtain trust of 100% about all of parts. Because human inspection in mass-production manufacturing facilities are both time-consuming and very expensive, the automation of visual inspection has been attempted for many years. Thus, automatic visual inspection of PCB is required. In this paper, we used an algorithm which compares the reference PCB patterns and the input PCB patterns are separated an object and a scene by filtering and edge detection. And than compare two image using pattern matching algorithm. We suggest an defect inspection algorithm in PCB pattern, to be satisfied low cost, high speed, high performance and flexibility on the basis of $640{\times}480$ binary pattern.

  • The objective of study is design and structural analysis of multi-axis drill machine for PCB. This is able to reduce the unit cost of manufacture and to ensure safety, that is with the result of analysis by design the multi-axis drill machine for the use of PCB to enhancing suitability and exactitude in mass production the process of PCB.

  • A automatic component inserting system for industrial PCB is developed in this paper. This system has not been developed in Korea. Most domestic companies produce PCB manually. This process requires highly-skilled staff. Therefor, we developed a PCB inserting system for automation of the process and improved productivity. There are low parts in this system; press, table, tool change and control part. A hybrid press cylinder with pneumatic and hydraulic is used in the press part. The table part consists of pneumatic actuators, stepping motors and ball-screw mechanism. In the tool change part, upper tools can be exchanged automatically for the inserting of various components. The control part consists of motor drivers, PLCs and power supply.

  • PCB assembly is a complicated and difficult process to optimize due to the necessity of simultaneous consideration of component’s rack assignment and board mounting sequencing. An efficient PCB assembly method is developed by using neighboring positioned identical components information as well as quantity and size of the components. It is found that same type of components are located closely each other by checking real PCBs and interviewing with PCB designers in practice. Better performance of the developed procedure is obtained along with more number of total components and more number of neighboring positioned identical components cases. Simulation models are developed using Visual C++ for performance evaluation purposes of the suggested heuristic.

  • This paper proposes Dual DBR(Drum-Buffer-Rope) system for a small-to-medium-sized PCB(Printed Circuit Board) manufacturing line. DBR method of TOC(Theory of Constraints) is an effective system for a small-to-medium-sized company to build production scheduling system. But to apply it to PCB line, it needs more technical consideration because of multiple constraints, looping process line and complex buffer management. This paper proposes an answer of these problems using Dual DBR to build production scheduling system more successfully. And it was confirmed that lead time was reduced more than 20% applying Dual DBR system to a domestic PCB manufacturing line actually.

  • A surface mount device (SMD) assembles electronic components on printed circuit boards (PCB). Since a component assembly process is a bottleneck process in a PCB assembly line, making an efficient SMD plan is critical in increasing the PCB assembly line productivity. Feeder assignment is an important part of the SMD plan optimization. In this paper, we propose a feeder re-assign improvement algorithm for a specific type of SMD machine with a piano type multi-head gantry. Computational results on some real-world benchmark data sets show the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm.

  • This research deals with multiple Gantry-type assembly machines for the optimization of PCB assembly line. The automated assembly machine has 6 nozzles which can linearly move the X axis and the Y axis different from the turret type assembly machine. Each machine is optimized while considering the whole line balancing of three machines in assembly process simultaneously. Simulation models are developed using AutoMod for comparison study with single machine operation cases under various conditions such as types and total number of components to evaluate the proposed method.
