  • In this paper, we propose a model that explains how the quality of YouTube clip and the credibility in YouTuber affect the usefulness of information and attitude of adapting information, based on 'Information Adoption Model' proposed by Sussman and Siegal. Additionally, we investigate the moderating role of YouTube genre in this model. Empirical analysis has shown that both the quality of YouTube clip and the credibility in YouTuber in the entire genre have a significant impact on the usefulness of information, which in turn significantly affects the attitude of information adoption. But only the quality in YouTube clip is found to have a significant impact in the 'information-oriented' genre, whereas, in the 'entertainment-oriented' genre, only the credibility in YouTuber is found to have a significant impact. The findings of our study provide various implications for building a business strategy for using YouTube as an information providing tool.

  • We reported previously that the extracts of Yacon tuber and leaf have spermatogenic activity and testosterone level increasing effect in men. The aim of this study was to investigate the mechanism of testosterone level increasing effect of Yacon tuber and leaf extracts. In this study, we found that Yacon leaf extracts and chlorogenic acid, a constituent of Yacon extracts showed significantly inhibition effect of testosterone degradation in rat liver homogenate. We suggest that this could be a part of direct mechanism about increasing effect of testosterone level. Futhermore, we evaluated the inhibition effect of testosterone metabolism of Torilis japonica and Coix lacryma-jobi have been reported as $5{\alpha}$-reductase inhibitor. The inhibition ratio of testosterone metabolism of these were Torilis japonica>Coix lacryma-jobi>Yacon. We also evaluated the benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) score with the preparation composed of these natural product, Yacon pill. It showed the decreased the BPH score in men. Rats with BPH showed significantly increased dihydrotestosterone (DHT) levels in the serum; however, Yacon pill extracts treated rats showed significant reduction of DHT levels compared with the BPH group. Conclusively, Yacon pill showed the possibility as ameliorable agents of BPH symptoms.

More than 80 percent Gen Z use YouTube content as a main information channel. In this study, we investigate what kind of factors make Gen Z immersed when watching YouTube content. In the background study, we examined immersion and set the cognitive conditions of immersion as reality, fascination, control, and driving as a framework for analysis of case study. In the case study, we analyzed the most popular YouTube channels of each category among the Gen Z with the established framework and then identified 3 main factors: reality, 5 senses, and unpretentiousness and 8 characteristics of them. By conducting survey with Gen Z, we wanted to verify the validity of the characteristics and find out the difference among categories. Subjects answered on a five-point scale how the characteristics of each immersion factor corresponded to their favorite channels. As a result, seven characteristics: 1) familiarity of background, 2) reality of acting, 3)familiarity of material, 4)YouTubers' appearance and 5) voice, 6)multi-sensory, and 7)YouTuber's ability to resemble viewers influenced more than 50% of users' immersion. Although there was no significant difference among categories, the familiarity of the material and the five senses stimulus (YouTube's appearance, voice, audiovisual and surrogate taste) were the most important factors in the entertainment category.

  • In order to clarify the factors that diminish the population size of Scirpus planicumis in Han River Esturay Wetland Conservation Area of South Korea, I analysed the autoecological traits of competitive hydrophytes over the species, compared the performance ability of Scirpus planicum group inhabited between in soil-accumulated site and in soil-unaccumulated site, and suggested the management strategy of restoration of this plant based on the field survey. Scirpus planicumis had lower competitive ability than other hydrophyte such as Phragmites australis, Zonia latifolia, Typha augustifola. in terms of dry matter production, height, and reproductive regime. S. planicumis group in soil-accumulated site had lower tuber production, lower vegetative and reproductive production than that of in soil-unaccumulated site, and plant height was shorter in soil-accumulated than in soil-unaccumulated condition. Tuber was appeared in lower soil depth within 15cm in laboratory condition. These results indicated that soil-accumulated condition is the dominant factor caused the decreasing of population size of S. planicumis. It was urgently suggested that constructing a water ways to removed accumulated soil layer is need to restore the population size of S. planiculmus in this wetland.

  • The contents of starch, moisture, crude protein, crude fat, crude fiber, and ash of different varieties of potatoes were analyzed. The average starch contents of Go-woon, Ha-ryoung, Dae-seo, Jo-won, Ga-won potatoes were $17.9{\pm}0.2$, $18.0{\pm}1.7$, $17.7{\pm}0.5$, $14.8{\pm}0.4$, and $16.2{\pm}1.0%$, respectively. The ground powder of each starchy substrate was suspended in distilled water, and then liquefied, saccharified, and fermented by Saccharomyces cerevisiae ATCC26603 at $30^{\circ}C$ for 4 days. By statistical analysis, the effectiveness of the contents of the different components of the potato tubers on the ethanol production were examined. The results showed that the starch content positively affected the ethanol production. while moisture content affected negatively the ethanol production. Ethanol production from the 5 different varieties of potato tubers harvested on different time were examined and the results indicated that both of potato variety and the harvesting-time significantly affected the ethanol production. Among the several varieties of potato, Ha-ryoung produced the highest yield of ethanol as much as $94.3{\pm}1.9$ L/ton or $3111{\pm}62.7$ L/ha.
