  • This study aims to provide intellectual access to TV content using faceted classification. In order to describe the content of news and current affairs programs, a faceted approach was explored. Based on the Ranganathan's PMEST formula, the basic facets - 'who', 'what', 'how', 'where', 'when' - and their sub-facets were created, specifically for describing the news genre. Additionally, the formal structure and the contextual features of the news genre were mainly considered for creating sub-facets. These created facets were applied to a news genre program. The result shows that these suggested facets are useful for representing well the contextual components of the news genre. The application of faceted classification is expected to improve the identification of the specific TV content.

  • To get an implication for desirable direction for Collaboration between Reporter & Producer, I found that had 4 modes of collaboration such as, Producer System, Reporter System, Double Reporting System, Co-Work System, and each was distinguished by field cover, on-mic, editing, writing. Producer system and Reporter system got no chemical synergy because of simple array of single reports due to physical assemble. The achievements of collaboration was birth of new news which had different duration, visual, sound & perspective. It also offered fertile soil for new program and genre literacy of 8 o'clock news. The success factor of collaboration was surprisingly turned out to be personnel rather than system. The balance of reporter & producer was also good factor. But the wall between 2 groups was so high that, after disappearance of extraordinary leader, system began to crumble and at last program was repealed.

  • In the age of digital culture, TV broadcasting is exercising more influence as a information and communication medium compared to past. With the appearance of satellite broadcasting service in 2002, the broadcasting environment became a diversified field of local TV, cable TV, satellite, internet, etc. and created the time of multi-media and multi-channel. This ongoing change of broadcasting environment made the passive audience of the past, active image makers and new accepters, participants and users of communications, who know how to choose and use media as the active centerpiece, The active acceptor as the centerpiece of channel selections has become the center of the broadcasting, whereby they pick up and enjoy their favorite TV programs and came to remember the list of their favorite channels and zap them finally. In this point of spotting their favorite channels and improving the degree of recognition for the channels, the development of the noticeable brand for a particular program has made a great contribution. The aim of this study, therefore, is to recognize the factors, which are important in the habits of watching TV and to develop professional brands for TV broadcasting programs.
