This study conducted a SWOT/AHP analysis to prepare a developmental strategy for Gwangyang Port. The SWOT analysis is used to analyze internal and external environment in the strategy stage. The SWOT/AHP analysis was proposed by Kurttila et. al. (2000) to improve usefulness of the SWOT analysis. The results of the SWOT analysis confirm what factors are present in the SWOT group. Therefore, when it is combined with the AHP analysis, it evaluated the relative importance of factors gained from the SWOT analysis and used them to develop strategies. To sum up the results, in the SWOT group, opportunity, strong points, threat and weak points were relatively important in a good order. In respect to factors of the SWOT, for a factor of strength, reasonable freight cost, good port site, and broad hinterland were relatively important. As to factors of weakness, absence of an efficient customs system, a complex transport system and port personnel were relatively important. As to factors of opportunity, an improved transport system through building various infrastructures, consistent development of a connected industrial complex, and increased cargos in northeast area were relatively important. As to threat factors, an improved transport system through building various infrastructure, competition with neighboring ports and small complex transport companies were relatively important.

The best business strategy leading to innovation and productivity can be achieved by carefully analyzing internal and external environments of a company. Many companies often require, but difficult to find a tool to determine their own internal/external environmental factors including strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats(SWOT). SWOT is one analytical base model that is utilized in this research to design semi-automated environmental analysis process. This study investigates on SWOT generation system that is built on existing analysis database created by experts in each field. Companies can search and choose their best expressing environmental elements that are stored in the database. This semi-automated SWOT tool is expected to contribute that companies can recognize their internal capabilities more accurately, and help consider external environment changes around them.

The sustainable energy has globally become more important to maintain the future industry. Of various new renewable energy types, hydrogen energy had drawn a lot of attention as clean energy. Therefore, this study applied SWOT-AHP analysis to establish a strategy for the infrastructure of hydrogen energy industry. It drew the factors required to establish the infrastructure of hydrogen energy industry based on the literature review and experts' opinions were surveyed to redesign SWOT Matrix. The AHP analysis is performed to obtain the relative importance of developed factors by pairwise comparisons. Based on research results by applying SWOT analysis and AHP, this paper proposes the development of strategic plan for infrastructure of hydrogen energy industry.

Service FMEA may yield several possible corrective actions for each failure mode with large RPN. Corrective actions for each service failure are usually interrelated with the customers and environmental elements of the service system. SWOT analysis can provide an effective way to analyze the inner and outer environmental impacts for each corrective action. In this paper, we suggest a way for selecting and ranking corrective strategy in service operation based on SWOT analysis. Every candidate of corrective action strategy is ranked and evaluated on the basis of the impact factors of the SWOT variables, correlations between possible corrective actions and SWOT variables, and RPNs of service failures. The most desirable set of corrective actions is selected considering the preference score of each corrective action, required resources and budgetary allowance. The proposed methodology is demonstrated with an illustrative example.

설계VE 프로세스 과정 중 기능분석을 성공적으로 수행하지 위해서는 VE대상의 선정이 중요하다. 그러나 설계VE활동시 대상선정 단계에서 설계VE 집중검토대상을 선정해야 하지만 그 활용성이 미비하였으며, 활용방법에 어려움이 따랐다. 이에 본 연구는 대상선정을 명확하게 하여 차후 기능분석에서 효과적으로 반영할 수 있는 방안으로 SWOT분석을 제안하고자 한다.

This study is a review on Risk analysis of foreign direct investments in innovative projects of Uzbekistan. The study will examine SWOT and PESTL analysis as an effective situation analysis tool which plays an important role in the fields of management, marketing, and in any fields of requiring strategic planning. SWOT is an analysis method used to evaluate the 'strengths', 'weaknesses', 'opportunities', 'threats' and PESTL is an analysis tool used for measuring the 'political', 'economical', 'social', 'technological' and 'low' risks involved in a various sphere of economy. In this study, firstly the essence of SWOT and PESTL analysis is explained, secondly the components of SWOT and PESTL analysis is examined. The paper includes risk analysis for further investigation to innovation sector of Uzbekistan economy.

This study is aimed to prepare the promotion strategy to spawn snow crab resources and create their habitats using SWOT-AHP analysis. Currently, the creation program of spawning and habitat ground (CPSH) of various fisheries resource is a continuing process, however, none of these CPSH can be labeled as being effective in Korea. In order for CPSH to be effective, it must be planned systematically. Therefore, it is necessary for establishing promotion strategy on the CPSH. SWOT-AHP analysis is used to improve explanation ability of SWOT analysis. In this research, we suggested three strategies and 15 implementation plans of the CPSH using SWOT-AHP analysis. It is expected that the economic feasibility, ecosystem and recovery of fisheries resources will improve significantly. Consequently, to increase the performance of CPSH, it is necessary to focus on the developing an efficient and executive promotion strategy on the CPSH.

The competition between many countries for Chinese outbound tourism which have developed at the most fastest speed and has enormous potential in coming years is bitter. So it's important to understand Chinese outbound tourism market and develop strategy to attract Chinese tourists for Korean tourism industry to compete with rival countries. Therefore, this study first researched the environment factors such as population, politics, economy, culture, consumer and competition by reviewing Chinese outbound tourism market and the actual conditions of Chinese tourists to Korea. Then looked out opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses by SWOT analysis. Finally suggested marketing strategy for attracting more Chinese tourists according to SWOT analysis and discussed the role of distribution.

The purpose of this study was to develop strategy direction for visiting home care through a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats(SWOT) analysis. The methodological research-based study employed an analysis model based on a literature review and expert interviews. The outcomes of the SWOT analysis formed the main components of the strategic planning approach, whose application to the hospital-based visiting home care program of the Seoul Veterans Hospital was expected to be effective in increasing the turnover rate and hospital incomes.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the intrinsic strengths and weaknesses, as well as opportunities for success and threats of Korean health care industry when planning strategies to enter Chinese health care market. Methods: To suggest directions for planning the strategies, a SWOT(Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis was used in combination with an AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) in this study. A total of twenty SWOT factors and the relative weight of SWOT groups were examined through a survey on the respondents who have work experiences in the area of entering Chinese market. Results: "Geographical proximity between Korea and China" was recognized as a key strength. "Absence of success case in medical service industry" was selected as a critical weakness. "Increase in demand for advanced medical services in China" was identified as an important opportunity. "Difficulty in establishing Korea-China partnership" was considered as a major threat. The respondents prioritized weaknesses, followed by threats, opportunities, and strengths when conducting strategic planning to enter Chinese health care market. Conclusions: Improving local hospital management plan as well as specializing in certain health care services may be necessary.
