  • With the growth of the Internet, web-based cyber education is progressing from the text-based to the hyper-based including multimedia, and from one way of simply giving the contents to the learner to another way of providing mutual interaction between the instructor and the learner. For this, there uses the RIA-based dynamic application and multimedia. RIA, which is the new paradigm on the web, provides the learners with more effective and rich contents. For developing a cyber education system, if we use the existing web languages, a large amount of effort is needed. But if we use the RIA-based paradigm, we can remarkably reduce the effort. Also, in developing a new web-based cyber education system the RIA paradigm makes the learners to satisfy their demands, and in developing the system providing the interaction the paradigm gives us the way minimizing the time and effort. In this paper, we compare and evaluate the efforts in developing the RIA based education system with the Non-RIA based education system.

  • Current SSO has focused on authenticated integration between inter systems in a domain.On the contrary, becasuse SSO using SAML can support integration between different domains, once it is used in RIA, we can expect highly synergic effect. However, because researches on SSO using SAML are mainly those on authenticated information exchange between servers, a special research is needed in order to be applied in RIA environment, which conducts numerous managements in client. This study proposes architecture and explain a practice structure in order to apply SAML to RIA. Also, this study has embodied the proposed architecture and applied it on DWR, which is used mostly as Data communication framework of RIA, and verified the useablity of this architecture.

  • RIA(Rich Internet Application) has the best User Interface and easy way to use. It is used in many Application System and Web Application. This Paper introduces a RIA technology for Implementation of u-Hospital Application. This System uses a history of customers in the hospital and question about diseases, so we can improve the satisfaction of service. This paper shows that the u-Hospital System using RIA is more fast and easy than HTML application. Because RIA has special features that data can be obtained from server without reloading entire page and every user interaction does not require web server response. The proposed technology can improve the efficient u-Hospital System because it can be extended to ubiquitous mobile application.

  • As the Internet has been improved to Web 2.0, it introduces new approaches including Rich Internet Application (RIA) technology such as Flash, AJAX, Silverlight, etc. The RIA which is platform independent technology allows applications to provide rich client-side interfaces, and allows the browser to interact with users without communication to server. In this paper, we propose a method of spatial data service based on RIA technology. Internet map service using spatial data generally requires rich client-side interfaces and various interactions. These features can be provided by the RIA. The proposed method uses Flash developed by Macromedia as RIA technology. It can be applicable on any platform including mobile environment. The spatial data server makes Flash file known as SWF (Shock Wave File) with manipulation code for map and spatial data that is requested by user, and send it to the web browser. Once the web browser receives a SWF, client SWF manipulates user interactions, such as zooming and panning, without communication with server. Experiments that execute the application on various web browsers including mobile web browser and measure time of map interaction are carried out to compare with traditional bitmap based WMS (Web Map Service). As a result of experiments, we have confirmed improvement of interactivity and performance with RIA approach.

  • RIA(Rich Internet Application)는 기존의 웹 애플리케이션 기술이 가진 평면적인 표현과 순차적인 프로세스를 다이나믹한 사용자 인터페이스와 데이터베이스의 연동을 통해 저렴한 비용으로 하나의 인터페이스에서 모든 프로세스가 처리 가능하도록 해주는 기술을 의미한다. 본 논문에서는 웹 표준(HTML/CSS)을 RIA로 확장한 문법을 해석 할 수 있는 RIA Generator를 제안한다. RIA Generator는 크게 두 부분으로 나뉘는데, 한 부분은 기존 HTML 및 CSS 소스와 확장된 RIA 문법을 파싱하는 부분이고, 나머지 한 부분은 파싱한 것을 의미에 따라 화면에 적절히 출력하는 부분이다.

  • The established methods in the residue analysis of endosulfan require an extensive sample clean-up prior to quantification by relatively complex equipment. A radioimmunoassay(RIA) provides a simple procedure with theoretically higher sensitivity and specificity necessitating only a minimum of sample clean-up. Endosulfan-specific antibodies were developed in rabbits by using a bovine serum albumin(BSA) conjugate wherein the alcohol form of endosulfan was multiply bound to the protein via succinylation. Produced antibodies showed the high titers to endosulfan-BSA(1 : 32,000). An RIA method was developed in water and carp by using $^{14}C-labeled$ endosulfan as a tracer. The lowest detection amount of endosulfan was 1 ng in the liver, kidneys, gut and water samples, and 3 ng in the whole body sample of carp without any clean-up, corresponding to 0.1 ppb of endosulfan.

  • The trend of the web is moving from portal-centered to user-centered, and RIA(rich internet application) is considered best solution for usability and functionality of the next generation web. But the lack of reference document or technical guide for RIA implementation is a big obstacle for extension of RIA environment to practical business engineer or user. In this paper, I will suggest the implementation conceptand reference site for user-centered environment based on RIA concept. The suggested concept support wire/wireless environment, and use the e-mail that is already used by many company or portal. The contents of this paper will be very helpful to the practical engineer or portal/company that want to use or implement about RIA environment.

  • Rich Internet Application(RIA) is one of the Web 2.0 technologies and is expected to be a next generation user interface technique which allows flexible and dynamic manipulation for Web searches. This paper addresses a personalization mechanism for advanced Web search using RIA for abundant user interactions. We devised a dynamic and graphical user interface instead of previous text-based searches and a client side application for storing personal preference information. In this research, we implemented the graphical personalized search manager using Yahoo web search API and widget, and demonstrated its effectiveness by performing some experiments with various query terms and representative predicates.
