A Study on Secure Matrix-based RFID Authentication Protocol (행렬기반 RFID 인증 프로토콜에 대한 연구)

  • Recently, the security for RFID/USN environment is divided into network security and RFID security. The authentication protocol design for RFID security is studied to protect user privacy in RFID system. However, the study of efficient authentication protocol for RFID system is not satisfy a security for low-cost RFID tag and user privacy. Therefore, this paper proposes a secure matrix-based RFID authentication protocol that decrease communication overhead and computation. In result, the Matrix-based RFID authentication protocol is an effective authentication protocol compare with HB and $HB^+$ in traffic analysis attack and trace location attack.

  • Nowaday's application, that is focused more on the security and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) had become one of the major technologies that became important for security. RFID devices are going to be ubiquitous applications that are used in different areas especially in the business because it simplifies many business transactions. However, security and privacy issues and risks are introduced by pervasiveness of RFID systems. In RFID systems, communication between tag and reader usually takes place via wireless communication. As the nature of radio frequency signal, it can go everywhere and everyone can receive this signal, which is an insecure channel. The computational resources in RFID tag are constrained and it is a big limitation that forces researcher to apply different mitigations compared to common security solutions. At the first part of this research, RFID architecture is introduced briefly. In this paper, the researcher explains existing security challenges in RFID networks then the effects of these threats on security and privacy of RFID are discussed. After analyzing security challenges of RFID networks, different countermeasures that are proposed by other researchers are discussed. At the end of this paper, future security challenges are discussed.

  • RFID is a widely adopted in the field of identification technology these days. Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) has wide applications in many areas including manufacturing, healthcare, and transportation. Because limited resource RFID tags are used, various risks could threaten their abilities to provide essential services to users. A number of RFID protocols have done by researcher in order to protect against some malicious attacks and threat. Existing RFID protocols are able to resolve a number of security and privacy issues, but still unable to overcome other security & privacy related issues. In this paper, we analyses security schemes and vulnerability in RFID application. Considering this RFID security issues, we survey the security threats and open problems related to issues by means of information security and privacy. Neither a symmetric nor an asymmetric cryptographic deployment is necessarily used with light weighted algorithm in the future.

  • Radio Frequency Identification(RFID) has been considered as an key infrastructure for the ubiquitous society. However, due to the inherent drawbacks, RFID causes var- ious security threats like privacy problems, tag cloning, etc. This paper proposes a novel practical approach, which are fully conformed to EPCglobal RFID Gen2 standard, for enhancing security of currently used RFID Gen2 tags against the various security threats.

  • 센서 네트워크는 크기가 작고 제한된 전력을 가진 센서노드들이 무작위로 다량 배치됨에 따라 안전하고 자유로운 정보 이용을 위하여 보다 유동적인 관리 환경이 필요하다. 특히 종래의 중앙 집중적인 관리 방법은 동적인 네트워크 변화가 민감한 센서 네트워크에 적용하기에 그 기능에서부터 큰 차이를 보이기 때문에 보다 신속하고 정확한 센서 노드의 관리를 위한 모바일 관리 도구의 구축을 제안한다. 모바일 관리 도구를 이용한 분산적인 센서 네트워크 관리는 유연한 센서 노드들의 관리를 가능하게 하고 이는 곧 센서 노드들이 수집하는 정보와 전달하는 정보의 신뢰도를 증가 시킬 수 있다.

  • In 2009, Jeon et al proposed the lightweight strong authentication and strong privacy protocol, where the tag requrires only simple bitwise operations and random number generator. JK-RFID authentication protocol provides strong security: eavesdropping, replay, spoofing, Location tracking, DoS attack and forward security. Nevertheless, this paper points out the vulnerability of the forward security and improve the process of key updating. As a result, proposes an enhanced JK-RFID authentication protocol providing forward security and verify its satisfaction. In addition, a security and an efficiency of the proposed scheme analyze. Since partial adjustments of the key updating operation in JK-RFID authentication protocol, our protocol improve the forward security.

  • 9.11 terrors which happen in 2001 in the U.S. recognize importance about national security and Department of Commerce, country safety department, Federal Communication Commission(FCC) etc. are establishing RFID sticking plan in harbor exit and entrance container for this, and it is real condition that is preparing preparation of law and system that establishes harbor peace law(Safe Port Act) on October, 2006 and acts on for U.S. about container load cargo Europe and Asia each countries. These law and system is logistics security that strengthen search for import and export freight and security to main contents. To meet in these circumstance subsequent, this paper is to examine the following three themes. First, examined necessity of logistics security and logistics security strengthening tendency, and second, examined in achievement of logistics business and RFID, and third, presented logistics security process that utilize change of realization about logistics security and RFID's role for logistics security. Through upper investigation, this paper suggested the realization about logistics security raising, logistics security connection system construction by export step, real-time freight chase that use RFID, construction necessity of executive system and development of logistics security equipment required.

  • As an automatic identification technology, in which electronic tags are attached to items and system auto-identifies informations of the items using wireless communication technology, use of RFID system is increasing in various fields. According to that, related security problems are becoming important issue. Up to now, many authentication protocols have been proposed to solve security problem of RFID system. In this paper, We show that the RFID authentication protocols in [9, 10], which are compatible with Type C RFID system in ISO 18000-6 Amd1[8], are vulnerable to a spoofing attack. In addition, we propose improved protocols having small additional cost over the original protocols.
