  • 우편 물류 환경에 RFID 기술을 도입하는 경우 가장 먼저 기대할 수 있는 효과는 비용절감이다. 두번째는 우편 물류 처리시간의 단축과 이로 인한 우편물 처리 용량의 증대효과이다. 본 고에서는 우편 물류 환경에서 RFID 기술 도입 시 그 시행 착오를 줄이고 보다 효율적인 RFID 기술 도입을 위해 현재의 RFID 기술 수준을 파악하고, 국내외RFID 기술 도입 사례를 제시한다. 이를 위해 현재의 RFID 기술에 대한 국제 표준화 상황과 RFID 기술 상용 제품의 가격과 성능 수준 그리고 RFID 기술 도입 사례 등을 기술한다.

  • 최근 RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) 기술은 IT 839 전략의 일환으로서 정부 부처 및 유통 물류 시장을 중심으로 다양한 분야의 시범사업에 활용되고 있다. 이처럼 RFID 기술 및 시스템 도입이 진행되면서, RFID 기술 활용을 통한 실질적인 부가가치 창출 및 프로세스 개선 효과는 RFID 소프트웨어로부터 창출된다는 인식이 점차 확산되고 있다. 따라서 본고에서는 RFID 하드웨어와 RFID 응용 애플리케이션을 연동하는 RFID 미들웨어를 중심으로, RFID 소프트웨어의 역할 및 기술 현황을 정리하고 관련 국제 표준화 동향을 소개하고자 한다.

  • 유비쿼터스 사회로 발전하기 위한 핵심 기술 중 하나인 RFID는 다양한 분야에 활발하게 적용되고 있다. 본고에서는 RFID 서비스 제공을 위한 RFID 서비스 네트워크 구조에 대하여 살펴보고 RFID 태그가 부착된 객체를 식별하기 위한 식별자인 RFID 코드체계 현황을 분석하였다. 개별적으로 구축된 RFID 네트워크의 상호 연동을 위한 RFID 검색서비스 구조에 대한 기술 사항을 검토하였다.

  • Recently, there has been much research to develope and apply RFID technology, which has a kcy role in the upcoming ubiquitous society, in many fields such as physical distribution, traffic control, medical service, and so on. However, there has been little research on a ubiquitous education or learning including 'u-Campuses' and 'u-Libraries'. Based on the characteristics of RFlD, this paper proposes a system for English learning required in globalization age. RFID tags and sensors utilize wireless communications to track the location and status information of the user to deliver English situated learning services. The current RFID-based system should use quite a different rniddleware, compared with a general-purpose middleware on server or desktop. The RFID system is used on a mobile PDA and consists of essential APIs such as reader and tag control, queue, and filter management.

  • RFID is an important information technology that enables changes in existing methods of logistics. In this study, a decision making model for the introduction of RFID by domestic food & beverage businesses has been developed in order to enhance the efficiency of logistics activities. The general business states and effects expected from the introduction of RFID by SCM sector of 167 domestic food and beverage businesses were surveyed and based on the results, it was identified that generally positive answers were received. A decision making model for the introduction of RFID was derived and based on the results, it was identified that major influencing factors affecting the intention to introduce RFID were "the number of personnel" and "costs to introduce RFID".

  • In this paper, we developed a RFID tag antenna using one-sheet inlay pattern which consist of two different frequencies in one layer. The antenna in one-sheet inlay RFID tag does not use different kind RFID antennas in a card but implement 13.56MHz and 900MHz RFID tag antennas in one sheet. In order to evaluate the usability of proposed method, we configured test equipments and designed 6 different patterns and test the recognition distance of each pattern. Among the one-sheet inlay RFID tag antenna designs, the pattern no.5 has good performance with recognition distance of 5.34m at 900MHz and 3.5m at 13.56MHz.

  • Recently, many researchers have studied on RFID with the rapid development of RFID technologies. RFID adapts to many applications. A lot of readers may be deployed in some applications. The incorrect deployment of RFID readers occurs reader-to-reader interferences in many applications using RFID technologies. It causes the significant degradation of the RFID recognition rate. Therefore, it is very important to appropriately deploy the RFID readers in terms of costs and system performance. In this paper, we propose a novel RFID sensor network design system with the minimal RFID readers to cover whole regions when an arbitrary blueprint is given.

  • This paper sets a goal at developing an intelligent advertising system that displays only an advertisement in which interests passers by collecting their RFID information and analysing it in order to improve the defect of outdoor advertising boards which unilaterally advertise regardless of people's interest. For this purpose, we propose a RFID contents middleware which generates a meaningful event and streams an advertising content corresponding with the passers' interest after filtering and analysing the recognized RFID data. We implemented the RFID middleware with Sun Java RFID software and made an experiment by designing a RFID emulator. As a result of the experiment. we found that this system displays the advertisement according to the passers' information.

  • This paper proposes a RFID cell planning scheme for indoor location-awareness. We theoretically develop four objective functions that yield objective goals significant to the optimal design of a RFID cell topology and simulation is conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed RFID cell planning scheme. We also evaluate the performance of the proposed technique after practically installing RFID readers in an indoor space to configure a RFID cell topology. Performance evaluations are conducted in terms of the following objective goals: minimal number of RFID readers for configuring a RFID cell topology, maximal RFID cell coverage areas for indoor location-awareness, minimal overlapping cells, and maximal indoor location-awareness accuracy.

  • An RFID middleware system that can process a large volume of RFID data became necessary with the advent of various kinds of ubiquitous services. In this paper, we propose a method to process massive RFID data and provide it to client applications based on ALE-compliant RFID middleware systems. To distribute the requests to collect and process the RFID data from clients, the proposed system gathers the resource information for RFID middleware systems and processes the requests from clients according to the information.
