Connecting Engineering Ethics and Philosophy of Technology (공학윤리와 기술철학: 그 접점을 찾아서)

  • This paper suggests teaching philosophy of technology in engineering ethics class, as a realistic solution for convergence education of engineering and humanities. First, the need for convergence between engineering and humanities are presented, which is followed by the analysis of the current convergence education in Korea, especially since the introduction of the ABEEK. Third, the proposal for teaching philosophy of technology in engineering ethics will be presented, together with the expected effect of such a trial. Finally, the actual implementation of this curricula will be introduced. In 2008 and 2009, the engineering ethics course in Handong Global University adopted this proposal. The evaluation of students will be examined, which indicates the direction that the convergence of engineering and humanities should take.

An Analysis of Acceptance Intention of Architecture and Urban Area Convergence Education using Technical Acceptance Model(TAM) (기술수용모델 기반 건축·도시 분야 융복합 교육의 수용의도에 관한 조사)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the acceptance intention of education for effective convergence of education trainees using technical acceptance model(TAM) and Structural Equation Modeling Approach(SEM). The order of study was set research model and studies were conducted a study to verify that research model fit. Through previous research, Innovativeness of the respondents, subjective norms of the respondents, the perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and the convergence of education also accommodate five factors were derived and it was set according to the TAM seven hypotheses. This study was conducted a survey of the Cyber University Students. The survey was composed of five factors and twenty detail factors. A total of 244 parts of the survey results were derived through. The results of this study is as follows; Education subjective norm, level of Acceptance-intention, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness are identified as affecting. As a result, the Architecture and Urban area convergence education it is important to show the orientation to be useful in a commercial environment. The result is indicating that the need to focus on any part of the Architecture and Urban area convergence educational opportunities.

Development and Implementation Effect of Middle School Home Economics Convergence Education Program Applying Problem-Based Learning Method: Focused on Sustainable Food and Nutrition (문제중심학습법을 적용한 중학교 가정과 융합교육프로그램 개발과 실행 효과: 지속가능한 식생활을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and implement a home economics convergence education program applying problem-based learning method focusing on the middle school food and nutrition life unit, and verify the effect of this class on the problem-solving ability of students. For this, the study set up the theme of 'sustainable life' by examining the relationship with other subjects, and set the key question as 'what is the relationship with the environment of food resources, the influence of individual level, and the solution method?' was postulated. And developed the problem and the total of 8 classes. As a result of conducting the convergence education program with home economics applying problem-based learning method, the pre-test and post-test scores were 3,54 and 3.96, respectively, which showed a significant increase in problem-solving ability (p<.001). There were significant differences in the dimensions of problem-solving ability, except for problem clarification. Therefore, it was confirmed that the home economics and convergence education program applying problem-based learning method is an effective class for improving students' problem-solving ability.

  • Recently there are growing needs and demand to enhance 'Unity of knowledge' as the concept of "Creating new value through integration and convergence" is developing rapidly in many different areas in the society. This also has significant implication to education. Especially, it requires paradigm shift in terms of required capabilities and qualifications for the students with science major. To accommodate this trend, Natural Sciences and Engineering's College has been increasing convergence education which focus on cultivating creative and cooperative learning capabilities as well as acquiring fundamental knowledge of individual majors. However, convergence education developed and implemented by Sciences college or liberal education so far has been mechanical combination of knowledge from different academic fields - not effectively integrated and interdisciplinary education. Given this situation, this research is to develop and propose a "convergence education program based on the development of scientific and cultural contents" as an education tool to enhance capabilities to apply and re-create integrated knowledge as well as acquire and learn existing knowledge. Education program developed in this research aims to achieve two different and sequential capabilities. First is to understand 'Science and Technology' and 'Cultural Archetype' which would be essential and useful to create cultural contents. Second is to develop capabilities to convert this understanding into cultural contents - a storytelling capability. This education program is differentiated in that it defines cultural contents as a medium to converge and integrate science and technology and humanities. By leveraging the concept of cultural content and storytelling, this education program would be able to overcome restrictions of existing interdisciplinary approach. Also, this program would encourage students to try in-depth research and new applications, and develop logical and creative thinking.

  • In the era of the fourth industrial revolution, the importance of artificial intelligence(AI) is growing day by day, and there is no disagreement that AI education will bring great innovation in the future. Various attempts are being made to educate the topic of AI, but students who have no experience in AI education recognize AI only as a difficult target. Therefore, in this study, we analyze the changes in students' perception of AI by teaching them using AI. AI convergence education were conducted for 6th grade elementary school students, and pre and post tests were conducted in the form of AI awareness survey questionnaires which included questions such as interest in AI, changes brought by AI, and AI education. As a result, we confirm significant results that suggest the level of awareness of AI has improved through AI education in all factors. AI convergence education requires various AI convergence education programs as a form of education for social needs and future students, and hopefully a design based on this will help realize student centered education.

The Effects of Artificial Intelligence Convergence Education using Machine Learning Platform on STEAM Literacy and Learning Flow

  • In this paper, the effect of artificial intelligence convergence education program that provides STEAM education using machine learning platform on elementary school students' STEAM literacy and learning flow was analyzed. A homogeneous group of 44 elementary school 6th graders was divided into an experimental group and a control group. The control group received 10 lessons of general subject convergence class, and the experimental group received 10 lessons of STEAM-based artificial intelligence convergence education using Machine learning for Kids. To develop the artificial intelligence convergence education program, the goals, achievement standards, and content elements of the 2015 revised curriculum to select subjects and class contents is analyzed. As a result of the STEAM literacy test and the learning flow test, there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group. In particular, it can be confirmed that the coding environment in which the artificial intelligence function is expanded has a positive effect on learners' learning flow and STEAM literacy. Among the sub-elements of convergence talent literacy, significant differences were found in the areas of personal competence such as convergence and creativity. Among the sub-elements of learning flow, significant differences were found in the areas such as harmony of challenge and ability, clear goals, focus on tasks, and self-purposed experiences. If further expanded research is conducted in the future, it will be a basic research for more effective education for the future.

  • 특허를 통해 기술의 권리를 정의하고 보호하는 일이 매우 중요해짐에 따라 특허 문서를 분석하는 연구 또한 중요해지고 있다. 특히 특허의 청구항을 종속항과 독립항을 구분하고, 관련된 인용을 찾아내는 일은 관련 특허들을 분석하는데 매우 중요하다. 본 연구는 최근 텍스트 분석 분야에 획기적 성능 개선을 이끈 BERT(Bidirectional Encoder Representations From Transformers) 언어 모델을 사용하고 Neural Network 의 파인 튜닝 과정을 통해 청구항의 독립과 종속을 구분하였고, 인용하는 항의 번호와 인용 문구로 이루어진 인용 패턴을 통해 종속항의 인용 항을 찾아내었다. 이 방법을 2003 년 이후의 xml 형식의 미국 특허 데이터에 사용한 결과, 정확도 99% 의 성능을 확보하였다.

  • 4차 산업혁명시대가 도래함에 따라 대학에서의 창의력과 융합력 기반의 교육과정이 첨차 중요시 되고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 개발에 소요되는 시간이 짧고 비 공학 전공자도 쉽게 개발 가능한 동시에 창의성과 독창성을 갖춘 자율 로봇의 제작 과정을 제안한다. 제작되는 로봇에는 초음파 센서(ultrasonic sensor), 컬러센서(color sensor), 미디엄 모터(medium motor), 그리고 이를 동작하기 위한 그래픽 기반의 프로그램이 하나로 융합되어 최종 결과를 도출하고 제시되는 다양한 임무를 적절히 수행하는 것을 보인다.

  • Children need oral care according to their developmental stage and accordingly, the appropriate dental treatment is different, which requires parents to have an active attitude and the applicable oral knowledge. As there is so much unreliable oral care information and PR, it is hard to find accurate information and parents are in need of a preventative oral healthcare mobile application for healthy oral care. Also, pediatric adolescent care should be focused on prevention rather than treatment and children should be instructed and educated to eat cariogenic foods as little as possible as well as told to brush before going to bed. This study designed a smart application for oral health care education to provide information and knowledge regarding oral health care for infants, oral health education, and oral health care prevention for parents of young children.

  • 최근 사물인터넷 발달로 의료 IT 분야에서 뜨거운 관심과 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 연구 지향적인 성향을 지닌 대형병원이나 대학병원에 비해 중소병원에서는 현 상황에 즉각적으로 적용할 수 있는 실물 플랫폼의 적용이 매우 취약하다. 본 논문에서는 현중소의료에서 활용할 수 있는 환경구축을 중심으로 하여 중소의료기관에서도 적용할 수 있는 의료 IoT(Internet of Thing)를 제안하고자 한다.
