  • Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) has been applied to the construction industry for improving the efficiency of material and process management. Most RFID-related studies have focused on building or plant construction. The application of RFID has been limited in pipeline construction projects where materials are stored and stacked across a large construction site. This paper investigates practical issues in pipeline construction, improves the read rates of RFID tags, and tests their utility by putting them into practice. This paper demonstrates the benefits that may be expected with the use of improved RFID tags and the development of an automated pipeline construction management system. As a result, pipeline construction management time decreased by 28 hours per month compared to the conventional method. Cost decreased by about 26%.

  • The Sudanese construction sector is characterized by many small and large projects and high labor intensity, and accounted for 3.2% of the Sudanese country's GDP. The basic problems facing the Sudanese construction projects are the factors that affect on construction project performance. The objectives include identifying the factors affecting the performance of Sudanese construction projects, and to determine the critical factors. The literature review has been done to gather the information about the causes and their factors that affect on the performance of construction projects from the previous researches. The research methodology was conducted to gather the data by questionnaire which was examined to be reliable and valid according to statistical tests. The (34) factors were identified as factors affect on construction projects and the (10) factors were the critical factors which may lead to poor performance of Sudanese construction projects. This study has some conclusions such as the instrument for measuring the critical factors on the performance is reliable and valid, so the project management stage performance is 64.2%.

  • It is very important to manage the risk in building construction because construction process has too many internal risk compared with others. So construction managers need more developed risk management system than the Present. While the study for the solution and management of generated risk is comparatively enough, the effort to confirm the risk of construction phase on pre-construction phase haying an major effect on total duration, is insufficient. For supporting the schedule risk management of pre-construction, this study suggests the reclassified risk breakdown structure and the investigation form for advance preparations on pre-construction Phase, which help the Poorly experienced construction manager to make more correct decisions and efficiently to execute risk management.

  • Construction Management(CM) that is the business innovation and method of construction management is introducing and implying the needs to improve high cost and low productivity structure and cope with very variable changes of construction market in construction industry within the country. But, safety management system is a very insignificant thing under CM. Consquently, We had been needed for the improvement about what the problem was. Therefore, My study raised the problem to the system and management by making a comparative study of the feature of the management method and the content of the accomplishment of safety management by using the consideration of the case about a big field of construction work implying CM within the country and proposed the active method of safety management.

  • After the IMF financial crisis, a lot of risks in construction industry have been increased gradually with the expansion of construction industry widely, higher stories of building, and the expansion of the underground space and excavation work. These risks are bringing out construction accidents such as the death, the injury of worker and so on, not so much as it would be effected the corporation's image. In spite of these situations, many construction industries still maintain the wrong methods and not try to decrease construction accidents. Recently, we should focus on the fact that management system of the larger construction also is being good, on the other hand, the condition of the work in the case of smaller construction industries is very poor, construction company have a particular safety management system but it has a difference according to the construction magnitude, construction companies have a particular safety management system but it has a difference depending on the construction according to the construction magnitude. Therefore, this study will suggest the developed way of construction safety management by the comparison and analysis from the difference between the higher and the smaller construction industries.

  • Recently our government operates earned value management system (EVMS) for improving work management system of the construction projects over specific scale. The EVMS is based on the integrated management between construction cost and schedule, the existing systems, however, are focused on the cost management by using wort quantity. This study suggests a work management mode1 to integrate construction cost with activity information. The model introduces a work task concept as a tool that can connect construction cost to activity information. The suggested model in this study is verified by using actual data for the applicability to practical construction projects.
