  • The purpose of this study was to verify the validity of Ohio State Teacher Efficacy Scale(OSTES: Tschannen-Moran, 2000) when used with Korean home economics teachers. To achieve this purposes, the surveys with 263 secondary school home economics teachers was conducted by the prime investigator. Statistical procedures included descriptive statistics, factor analysis, internal consistency. Cronbach's a was calculated to test the reliability of items and their internal consistency and Exploratory Factor Analysis(EFA) was conducted to test the structure of each factors with principal analysis and varimax rotation. Confirmatory Factor Analysis(CFA) was conducted to test the factor validity of this scale with AMOS program. The reliability test result of 20 items appeared Cronbach's a=.86. The factor analysis on teacher efficacy with 263 survey of secondary school home economics teachers produced 5 factors including efficacy in classroom management. efficacy in needs assistance, efficacy in instructional strategies, efficacy in environmental assistance and efficacy in teaming assistance. The validity of teacher efficacy scale was moderately verified by the confirmatory factor analyses(GFI=.87, AGFI=.84. CFI=.86. PNFI=.72, RMR=.05. RMSEA=.07). The results lend a support to the teacher efficacy scale as a valid instrument.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of teacher librarians' efficacy and to propose some ways to enhance their efficacy. To do this, questionnaires on 30 teacher librarians who participated in the level 1 certification program of K university in 2018 were conducted. The results showed that their average efficacy was 3.38, the efficacy of teaching method was 3.60, the collective efficacy was 3.38, and the personal efficacy was 3.18. They had high personal efficacy on classroom management, the willingness to lead poor students and the possibility of problem student guidance, and collective efficacy on conflict management with fellow teachers and parents. On the other hand, personal efficacy in problem analysis and guidance for problem students, difficult contents and course instruction were low. Also, the collective efficacy of the conflict between the manager and the education office was low. They have a strong willingness to improve teaching methods for students and showed high efficacy about student synchronization and preparation for teaching. However, they were aware of the lack of learning skills and the lack of various teaching methods. The variables influencing their efficacy were graduation, education level, school size, and degree. Especially, the higher the education level, the more confident and enthusiastic about teaching problemmatic students and disadvantaged students. In addition, teacher librarians with high academic standards showed high confidence in conflict resolution with peers and parents and teaching methods. The improvement direction to enhance their efficacy in this study are increasing the ratio of teacher education in the field of education, reforming teacher librarians training before appointment, establishing supervision organizations for school libraries and improving their professionalism by going to graduate school.

  • Occupational self-efficacy is one of the factors necessary for successful occupational rehabilitation of persons with intellectual disabilities. In this research, we investigated to see whether participating in a game-based training for job affects occupational self-efficacy. We compared a group who played a job-training game during traditional training with a group who participated only in traditional training. The results indicate that overall occupational self-efficacy of the game-based training group was affected significantly compared to the control group. Among the four subcategories, problem solving self efficacy and stress management self-efficacy showed significant improvement.

Therefore, we need special instrument for measuring mathematics teacher efficacy. On this study, we derived educationally meaningful factors on mathematics teacher efficacy from previous literature. We developed Mathematics Teaching Efficacy Instrument(MTEI) consisted of 30 items with 6-point Likert scale. The six factors are as follows; mathematics teaching efficacy expectancy, mathematics teaching outcome expectancy, mathematics teaching content knowledge, teacher belief on their own students, the past mathematics learning experience for teacher own, influence from social-cultural environment.
