Weight of Role according to Job Position for Hospital Managers (병원경영자의 직위에 따른 관리자의 역할 인식도)

  • This study aims to be of help to cope with internal and external circumstances of hospital effectively by analyzing the weight of role for a hospital manager which has been changing. It surveyed 191 top managers and administrators working in a medical institute like hospital located in Busan, Ulsan and Kyungnam area from 20 November, 2007 to 29 February, 2008. The results of this study were as follows: The top manager thought that the role as a leader is the most important role as a manager in present, but the role as an enterpriser is also very important in future, however, they had troubles in the role of a representative which they have carried out in present. In order to overcome the current medical situation that competition is getting keen, it seemed that they expected the role as an enterpriser would be more important in future for competition and organization improvement. The administrator thought the role as a leader is the most important in present, in future and in current performance. It was considered that they recognized the importance of team work, order, goal of the organization, strategies, and information interchange regarding the characteristics of hospital that there are people of various kinds of occupations.

Competencies Necessary to Hospital Staffs and Managers in the Global Age (글로벌 시대에 병원행정 관리자가 갖추어야 할 역량)

  • Main purpose of this study is to provide some basic data necessary to research, education, and policy to cultivate professional talents, by investigating what competencies needed to hospital administrative staffs and managers in performing their jobs in the global age. A survey was conducted through self-administered questionnaires for hospital administrative staffs and managers including first-line hands-on workers who were working in 77 hospitals located in Busan, Keongnam, Ulsan areas in South Korea. Major results are as follows: (a) The analysis for the competencies needed to hospital administrative staffs and managers in order to perform successfully their jobs revealed that interpersonal competency, knowledge of management skills in healthcare field, understanding ability for healthcare, in that order of importance, had significant influence on performing their jobs. (b) Regarding the analysis for the detailed competencies necessary to hospital administrative staffs and managers in order to perform successfully their jobs revealed that problem-solving ability, sense of responsibility, positive attitude, leadership, in that order of importance, had significant influence on performing them. This study suggests that universities opened courses related to health care management should newly open a subject 'problem-solving ability in health care' to link with health care field and their curriculums are necessary to change over to practice-oriented curriculum system.

A Study on the Technique of Construction Site Management based on UAV and USN (UAV와 USN 기반의 건설현장관리기법 연구)

  • In recent years, various methods have been attempted to visually manage the construction site efficiently, and in particular, there has been a tendency to use a UAV or a drone in the air rather than a land on a construction site, Can be visually photographed and recorded or analyzed. In this study, the unmanned aerial photographs were taken at least three times and the USN sensors were simultaneously operated on the main structure at the time of shooting, The goal of this research was to make the image information and environmental information of the construction site available for efficient construction management by matching. As a result, not only professional engineers at construction sites but also administrative managers can visually confirm the detailed situation of the site at the time of the construction site and the completion status, and can help decision making in appropriate budget input and appropriate resource support The experts in each field discussed the safety management of the construction site, the prevention of disaster and various factors of change which can be changed by natural environment factors.

Exploration, Conflicts, Challenges, and Changes: A Teacher Educator's Self-Study for Secondary School Physics Instruction Course (탐색, 갈등, 도전, 그리고 변화 -물리교과교육 수업을 위한 한 교사교육자의 셀프스터디-)

  • The purpose of the study is to reflect on 'myself' as a teacher educator of college of education in depth and to improve my instruction through self-study with three critical collaborators. 17 pre-service science teachers and I have participated in this study of a teacher educator's course since March 2016 after the preliminary practice in 2015. The video recorded the course for 11 weeks with about 40 hours of lessons. The data source also included teacher educator's reflective journals, lecture evaluations, online boards and so on. Questionnaires were distributed and answered both at the beginning and at the end of the course and pre-service teachers wrote their reflective journals. Four of them were in the focus group interviews. During the course, the weekly group meeting of critical collaborators analyzed the emerging issues based on the lesson clips and teacher educator's reflective journals with discussion for the course innovation. Four phases were revealed in the process and for the purpose of the course such as exploration, conflicts, challenges, and changes. The results showed that first, we identified tensions among the teacher educator's multiple identities as a lecturer, a faculty member, and a researcher. Second, there were differences between goals of teacher educator and pre-service teachers in the course, and this obstructed the success of the course sometimes. Third, these practices led to explore balanced alternative views and interpretations of the problem by critical views and to expand and improve our teaching practice and thinking. In addition, the self-study with critical collaborators helped to bring conflicts and issues below my practice to light for collaborative reflection and it gave a chance to understand ourselves as teacher educators in different ways.
