The Integrity Assessment Method of Initailly Cracked Structural Components by Reliability Analysis (신뢰성해석에 의한 초기균열을 갖는 구조부재의 건전성 평가방법)

  • For the purpose of assessing structural integrity at a level of complexity and accuracy appropriate for the situation, integrity assessment methods are formulated with the following methods. One is three-tier assessment method of the revised BSI PD 6493 which considers stable crack growth effect, the others are limit load analysis which estimates the plastic collapse load and stability assessment method which considers stable crack growth of ductile material exactly using J-integral and tearing modulus. Besides, integrity assessments for center cracked panel(CCP) specimen and the circumferential through-cracked pipe are carried out and reliability analysis is accomplished by the first order reliability method which is one of the conventional reliability methods. Also the accuracy of the present method is verified by Monte Carlo method.

Similitude Study on Grain Thrower (차원해석방법에 의한 Thrower의 양곡특성에 관한 연구)

  • 본 논문은 Thrower의 양곡성능에 관한 예측 방정식을 차원해석법을 적용하여 유도하는데 있다. Thrower의 능률에 큰 영향을 미친다고 생각되는 인자들간의 관계식들을 Buckingham의 $\pi$이론에 의하여 구하여 졌으며 본연구에 사용한 Thrower는 현재 농촌에서 사용되고 있는 자동탈곡기의 Thrower와 유사한 형으로 제작된 것이며 실험에 사용된 시료는 벼의 경우는 통일벼와 미네히까리 품종이고 보리 품종으로서는 나맥이며, Thrower의 Impeller 직경, 속도 및 투입량을 변화시켜 가면서 각 시료에 대하여 양곡높이를 측정하여 그 예측방정식을 유도하였다. 본 논문에서 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. Thrower의 양곡성능에 지대한 영향을 미친다고 생각되는 주요 인자들을 Thrower의 양정, impeller의 직경과 속도, 투입량, 곡립의 밀도, 중력가속도등이라 간주하여 Buckingham의 $\pi$이론을 적용하여 이들에 관한 $\pi$항들을 결정하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. {{{{ pi 1= { D} over {H } , pi 2= { { DN}^{ { 1} over {2 } } } over { { g}^{ { 1} over { 2} } }, pi 3= { Q} over { { g}^{ { 1} over {2 } } { rho D}^{ { 2} over {6 } } }}}}} 2. 실험에 의하여 구해진 $\pi$항문의 관계식을 합성하여 Thrower의 양곡성능에 관한 시료별 예측방정식을 구하였으며 이 식들은 아래와 같다. 통일 : $\pi$1=0.1223($\pi$2)-1.1813$\times$($\pi$3)-0.1864 미네히까리 : $\pi$1=0.1185($\pi$2)-0.9663$\times$($\pi$3)-0.1575 나맥 : $\pi$1=0.1599($\pi$2)-1.2350$\times$($\pi$3)-0.1382 3. 현재 농촌에서 사용되고 있는 자동탈곡기체 부착된 Thrower의 회전수, Impeller의 직경 및 투입량은 각각 1,100rpm, 30cm 및 150gr/sec 정도로서 이와같은 수준의 변량들을 기초로 하여 본 논문에서 유도한 예측방정식을 적용하여 Thrower의 양정을 산출한 결과, 통일벼의 경우는 2.6m정도였고 미네히까리 품종과 나맥의 양정은 각각 2.4m, 2.9m 정도였다. 이와같은 사실로부터 1m내외의 양정만으로 되어있는 자동탈곡기 Thrower의 경우 제작비절감, 소요동력 감소를 기하고 아울러 과립의 손상을 줄이기 위해서는 설계 또는 작동조건의 변경을 통해 Thrower의 회전수를 현재 수준이하로 줄일 필요가 있다고 판단되었다.

  • 펌프는 다르 진동 유발원들과는 달리 일정한 주파수 및 크기를 갖는 진동을 일으키므로 스프링이나 댐퍼와 같은 간단한 방진기기를 이용하여 진동을 제어할 수 있다 현재 국내에서는 대부분의 펌프에 이러한 방진장치를 설치하는 것이 일반화되어있다 그러나 펌프의 용량 및 중량 주변 구조물의 형태 및 크기 등에 따라서 방진기구의 채택이 불필요한 경우도 있으므로 설비 진동기초에 대한 획일적인 설계와 시공개념은 불필요한 인적, 시간적 및 경제적인 낭비를 초래할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 사무용 건무에 사용되는 각종 펌프류에 대하여 가진특성과 구조물의 진동가속도응답을 측정하는 진동실험 및 이론적 해석을 실시하고 본래 계와 수정된 계의 진동을 답과 허용진동수준을 비교.분석함으로서 방진장치의 설치가 불필요한 펌프용량을 제시하였다.

The Churchlands' Theory of Representation and the Semantics (처칠랜드의 표상이론과 의미론적 유사성)

  • Paul Churchland(1989) suggests the theory of representation from the results of cognitive biology and connectionist AI studies. According to the theory, our representations of the diverse phenomena in the world can be represented as the positions of phase state spaces with the actions of the neurons or of the assembly of neurons. He insists connectionist AI neural networks can have the semantical category systems to recognize the world. But Fodor and Lepore(1996) don't look the perspective bright. From their points of view, the Churchland's theory of representation stands on the base of Quine's holism, and the network semantics cannot explain how the criteria of semantical content similarity could be possible, and so cannot the theory. This thesis aims to excavate which one is the better between the perspective of the theory and the one of Fodor and Lepore's. From my understandings of state space theory of representation, artificial nets can coordinates the criteria of contents similarity by the learning algorithm. On the basis of these, I can see that Fodor and Lepore's points cannot penetrate the Churchlands' theory. From the view point of the theory, we can see how the future's artificial systems can have the conceptual systems recognizing the world. Therefore we can have the perspectives what cognitive scientists have to focus on.

The Effects of Ecological Variables on Volunteering among Older Adults: The Applications of General Ecological Theory of Aging (노인자원봉사활동에 있어서 생태환경 변수의 효과: 노화의 일반생태학 이론을 적용하여)

  • This paper aims to estimate the effects of environmental variables on volunteering among older persons and decide relationships between independent and dependent variables. The thesis conceptually points out that the integrated theory of resources too much emphasizes the important roles of human, social and cultural capital, but overlooks the influences of ecological environments in explaining volunteering among the older persons. And the thesis tries to apply the general ecological theory of aging to explaining volunteering of older people together with resource frameworks, and to estimate the effects of ecological environment variables on volunteerism for senior citizens. Using a micro data of 2009 National Social Survey by Statistics Korea, the paper screens out 10,268 subjects who are believed to socially retire and be above 55 years older. The multiple OLS regression and binomial logistic regression techniques are used to estimate the effects of ecological environments and resources on volunteering. The analysis results show that all of environmental and resource variables are related to volunteering at the level of p<.000. This means that environmental variables have independent effects on the volunteerism, controlling for resource variables. This results suggest that both theories have empirical evidences in explaining volunteerism in Korea. Also, at the end of paper, theoretical and policy implications for practices and future studies are discussed.

Fracture Properties of High Strength Concrete Disk with Center-Crack (중앙에 노치가 있는 고강도 콘크리트 디스크의 파괴특성)

  • It is difficult to obtain accurate fracture toughness values using three point bending test(TPB) proposed by RILEM committees because the shape of load-deflection curve is irregular and final crack propagation occurs after some slow stable cracking. However, fracture toughness is easily obtained from crack initiation load in the disk test. In this paper, the fracture properties of high strength concrete disks with center-crack was investigated. For this purpose, the experimental results were compared with the results by finite element analysis(FEA). And the experimental fracture locus was compared with theoretical fracture locus. Also, the results of fracture properties for the degree of concrete strength are presented. It is concluded from this study that results from FEA with maximum stress theory were compared well with the results from experiment. And the degree of concrete strength was contributed to the crack initiation load and fracture toughness, but was not contributed to the failure angle. Also, The discrepancy of fracture locus between the maximum stress theory and the experiment for concrete is considered to depend upon a large energy requirement for inducing the mixed-mode and sliding mode fractures.

Elastic Buckling Analysis of Laminated Composite Plates with Embedded Square Delamination Using an Enhanced Assumed Strain Solid Element (강화변형률 솔리드 요소를 사용한 사각형태 층간분리를 갖는 복합적층판의 탄성좌굴해석)

  • Delamination reduces an elastic buckling load of the laminated composite structures and lead to global structural failure at loads below the design level. Therefore, the problem of the delamination buckling of laminated composite structures has generated significant research interest and has been the subject of many theoretical and experimental investigations. However, questions still remain regarding a complete understanding and details of the phenomena involved. In this paper an efficient finite element model is presented for analyzing the elastic buckling behavior of laminated composite plates with square embedded delamination using a solid element based on a three-dimensional theory. The solid finite element, named by EAS-SOLID8, based on an enhanced assumed strain method is developed. The study for elastic buckling behavior of laminated composite plates with embedded square delaminations are focused on various parameters, such as support condition and width-to-thickness ratio. Both graphs and buckling modes in this paper are good guide for design of the laminated composite plates with embedded square delamination.

  • 본 연구는 과제하중의 재하폭과 재하위치를 매개변수로 변화시켜 옹벽의 뒤채움재 상부 지표면에서 제한폭의 과재하중작용시 그의 활동거동에 관한 실험적, 수치적 해석적 연구이다. 중력 수준을 1g, 20g,40g로 변화시켜 수행한 원심모형실험을 통해 구한 기초의 극한지지력 및 하중-침하특성, 하중-옹벽수평변위특성에 관하여 조사연구 하였다. 또한, 옹벽의 활동으로 인한 지반파괴의 영향을 받기 시작하는기초의 재하위치를 추정하기 위하여 종래의 얕은 기초의 극한지지력 실험을 수행하여 이들 결과와 함께 비교하였다. 한편, 모형실험결과와 기존의 이론식을 수정보완한 해석 결과와 비교분석하였다.

A Study of Vibration Characteristics of Cylindrical Composite Shells Manufactured in Present Laboratory (간이 성형장치에 의해 제작된 복합재 원통셸의 진동특성평가)

  • In this study, the vibration analysis and modal tests of cylindrical composite shells which are manufactured with various stacking sequences in present laboratory were conducted under the free-free and clamped-clamped boundary conditions. Natural frequencies and mode shapes of these specimens were experimentally obtained and their results are compared with theoretical and FEM results. Both results are in good agreement, which confirm the usefulness of proposed manufacturing method for cylindrical composite shells.
