Effect on Social Game Use on the Degree of Social Capital - Based on Construal Level Theory - (소셜게임 이용시간이 사회자본에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구 - 해석수준 이론을 중심으로 -)

  • There are a number of studies about the impact of social games' social network. But because of conflicting results, the game's effect isn't ascertained. In this study, we defined that using social games makes increase the social capital with construal level theory. The survey results on construal level, social capital, game using time, etc, are used for the analysis of the correlation and interact. As a result, growing bridging social capital shows on the people who use high level of construal and more social game time use. This phenomenon did not appear in other online games, so that makes a social games' feature unique characteristic. And we discovered that high level construals is key point for defining the practical use of media.

  • 음향 배플위에 설치된 하이드로폰의 음파 수신과 내부의 소음으로 인한 배플의 센서 자체 소음 의 감소 효과에 대한 연구로 배플은 탄성 다층구조로 되어 있다. 이 논문은 탄성파 이론을 도입하여, 배 플에 의한 하이드로폰의 수신 신호 수준과 배플의 투과 손실을 해석할 수 있는 이론적인 모델을 세우 고, 입사각, 각 층의 두께, 배플의 재질과 배플과 하이드로폰과의 거리에 따른 수신 신호 수준 변화를 주파수 영역에서 이론적으로 해석하고 그 결과를 비교 분석하였다.

A Preliminary Study of Serious Game Effect Model based on Construal-Level Theory (해석수준이론에 기반한 기능성 게임 효과 증대 방안 연구)

  • Many of recent studies have suggested various positive outcomes of serious games. However, relatively little emphasis has been placed on the roles of user-centered factors from a psychological perspective. One of the main goals of serious games is the change of the user's perception and behavior towards a positive direction. To achieve this goal, psychological factors should be applied to the user's playing process in serious games. Inspired by construal-level theory(CLT), we propose a CLT applied model (CLT in process-outcome serious games model) considering psychological factors on the player's decision making. The model will be useful not only to game developers or designers but also to game researchers as a valuable tool in persuasion and learning for serious game users.

A Case Study of the Mobile Giving Platforms Based on Construal Level Theory: Focused on Bigwalk and Tree Planet (해석수준 이론에 기반한 모바일 기부 플랫폼 사례연구: 빅워크와 트리플래닛을 대상으로)

  • Mobile giving platform is a new type of giving platform which offers donation service through mobile application. Mobile giving platform has developed differently from offline giving platform in the way that induces continuous donation. The purpose of this study is to investigate why mobile giving platform has adopted different strategy, and how it leads to continuous contribution. We conducted a case study with two successful mobile giving platforms; Bigwalk and Tree Planet. The analysis of the strategy is based on the construal level theory which explains the relationship between psychological distance and construal level. The result shows that the users' psychological distance toward giving platform has decreased with the environmental change, offline to mobile. Consequently the mobile giving platform offers services which form low level of construal for encouraging continuous participation. This finding suggests the importance of offering suitable construal level in services, and design guideline for mobile giving platforms.

Effects of Temporal/Social Distance and Message Construal Level on Evaluations of a Retargeting Advertising (복합적인 심리적 거리와 메시지유형의 해석수준 일치가 리타겟팅 광고효과에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examines effective message strategies that fit with the characteristics of retargeting advertisements, based on the Construal Level Theory. First, we investigate whether the social distance that applies between interpersonal interactions can also be observable in an online environment and test the effects of social distance, depending on the type of online sites. We then examine consumers' construal level when social and temporal distances interplay, and how the effects of the messages change accordingly. As a result, social distance and message construal levels by website type were consistent with existing CLT studies. However, the hypothesis that advertising effects will be higher only when all, multidimensions' distances and construal levels of messages match, was partially supported. Also the current view, that the consumers' evaluations will show no difference to when either or both dimensions are distal, was rejected. Instead, when a discrepancy between temporal and social distance was present, the construal level of the message was more effective when congruent with the social distance out the two dimensions. Hence, it is possible to infer that the influence of psychological distance may vary depending on the dimension of distance.

  • The effect of the concentric solid tube inserted inside the vibrator on the sound field distribution was analyzed for the sound waves focused on the center axis in the fluid - filled cylindrical piezoelectric transducer. The sound waves radiated from the inside of the cylindrical piezoelectric vibrator are transmitted through the fluid medium and are reflected or transmitted on the wall surface of the solid tube, and are focused on the central axis. At this time, the sound field distribution centered on the acoustic tube varies depending on the acoustic impedance and the thickness of the solid tube. In order to theoretically analyze this, the transfer matrix for each medium is derived, and the sound pressure level at the center axis is theoretically analyzed. For the acrylic tube with various thicknesses, the changing trend in the sound pressure level measured on the central axis agrees well with the result of the theoretical analysis, and it confirmed that the sound pressure formed at the center changes very sensitively with the thickness of the solid tube.

  • Based on the Construal Level Theory, this study aims to investigate how information security vaccine users' selection intentions differ from each other according to the selection time of information security vaccine, advertisement message types, and information security knowledge levels. For the foregoing, this study conducted an experiment by applying an experimental design of 2(knowledge level: high/low) ${\times}2$(temporal distances: short distance/long distance) ${\times}2$(advertisement message types: how(concrete)/why(abstract)) on computer security vaccine softwares. As a result, this study confirmed that the selection intentions about information security vaccines differed from each other according to the temporal distance and advertisement message type, and also varied according to the information security knowledge level. In conclusion, this study provides an implication that the consideration of well-timed persuasive message is especially important for the users at the high level of knowledge. Also, this research implies the necessity of development of abstract thinking ability based on temporal distance for the users at the low level of knowledge.

Simple Method of Analysis for Reinforced Concrete Slab Bridges (간단한 방법에 의한 철근콘크리트 슬래브 교량의 해석)

  • The simple supported reinforced concrete slab bridges are analyzed by the specially orthotropic laminates theory. This method, however, may be too difficult for some practising engineers. In this paper, the result of analysis for such plate by means of the beam theory with unit width is reported. By using the "correction factor", the accurate solution for the plate can be obtained by the beam theory. The result of this paper can be used for reinforced concrete slab bridges analysis by the engineers with undergraduate study in near future.

  • 2011년 IEEE 국제 정보 이론(ISIT) 심포지엄 (Symposium) 이 7월 31일부터 8월 5일까지 러시아 상트페테르부르크(St. Petersburg)에서 열렸다. 본 심포지엄에는 총 1,562편의 논문이 수락되어, 논문 수락율이 약 60%로 높지만, 최고 수준의 심포지엄으로, 1,500여명의 학자들이 참여했으며, 학문적으로 정보 이론의 핵심인 체비쇼프 다항식, 마코프 확률 연쇄, 콜모고로프 엔트로피, 페렐만의 푸앵카레 추측 증명 등, 학문의 원천 아이디어 발상에 대해 고찰하고, 최근 뜨거운 감자로 떠오른 극 부호(Po1ar code)를 간단히 소개했다. 또한, 우리 전통 문화 유산인 제주 정낭을 채널 부호의 관점에서 해석, 이에 따른 채널 용량을 구했고, 제주 정낭이 오늘날 중계망(Relay network)의 모태임을 증명했다.

  • 아이들 상태에서 차실 내에 불쾌감을 주는 매우 높은 크기의 소음이 발생하였다. 본 논문에서는 아이들 시 문제소음의 원인을 분석하고 저감하는데 필요한 관련이론의 적용과 이에 수반되는 데이터측정, 데이터처리 및 데이터 해석과정을 자세하게 기술하였다. 소음진동 측정 및 분석 결과 문제의 소음은 엔진의 회전 2.5차 성분을 가지고 구조기인소음이었다. 아이들 시 문제의 실내소음에 영향을 미치는 구조전달경로들의 기여도를 분석하기 위해 소음경로해석시험 및 모드시험을 실시하였다. 시험분석 결과에 따라 기여도가 놓은 배 기계 및 트랜스미션계의 진동 전달특성을 개선하므로써 만족할 수준의 소음 저감효과를 얻었다.
