Converged Influencing Factors on the Stages of Change of Exercise in Middle Aged Women (중년여성의 운동행위변화단계에 미치는 융합적 영향요인)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse the convergent factors which influence on the stages of exercise behavior change of middle-aged women. 200 middle-aged women surveyed, 41 to 64years old, is residing D city, Chung-Nam province, who understand the purpose of this study and agree to participate in this study. This study data is analyzed by using frequency, percentage, standard deviation, t-test, $x^2$ test and Logistic regression analysis. The study show that the social support factors(${\beta}$=.998, p=.010) and the motives of exercise(${\beta}$=3.407, p<.001) among middle aged women have an effect on the stages of exercise behavior change meaningfully. That is, the social support of middle aged women who have exercise behavior change is 2.5 times higher than middle aged women who don't have exercise behavior change, and the motives of exercise is 20.1 times higher. Based on theoretical ground, this study suggests that government and community seek programs for promoting the exercise behavior, considering the motives of exercise and the social supports.

A Comparative Study of Productive Activities between Middle-aged and Elderly Women (중년여성과 노년여성의 생산적 활동 특성 비교)

  • The purpose of this study was to find an appropriate approaches for successful aging adapt to Korean older women 's needs. For this purpose, this study did a comparative study between middle-aged and elderly women. Data from the third Korean longitudinal study of aging were analyzed by network analysis and statistical methods. The results were as follows. From network analysis, it was identified the participation difference of productive activities between middle-aged and elderly women according to level of education, subjective heath condition and residential area size. From the multiple regression analysis, voluntary activity, existence of spouse, residential area, family income and level of education significantly affected satisfaction of life quality in middle-aged women while family caregiving, age, religion, residential area, family income and level of education were significant in elderly women's satisfaction of life quality. Based on these results, it was suggested several implications to increase productive activities according to characteristics of Korean middle-aged and elderly women.

  • In the Digital Transformation infrastructure at the addition to research on mental health such as depression and well-being, research on middle-aged health requires a study consisting of specific measures of cognitive health. This study used social, mental, and physical cognitive health as a sub-domain of cognitive health. The purpose of this study was to investigate the positive effects of volunteer activities on cognitive health for middle-aged women. The questionnaire survey was conducted on middle-aged women aged 40 to 59, focusing on the question "How well does cognitive health work for middle-aged women through volunteer activities?" The goal of this study is to examine the effect of volunteer activities on the cognitive health of middle-aged women and to analyze the meaning and influencing factors of volunteer activities needed to maintain the desirable life of middle-aged women and the healthy life of the elderly. The necessity to diversify and activate volunteer activities of middle-aged women was proved through the survey.

  • 본 연구는 발달적 위기에 놓여있는 중년여성의 피로도와 스트레스 저항력 그리고 정서와의 상관관계를 알아보기 위하여 뇌신경 생리학적 지표인 뇌파 측정을 이용하여 분석해 보고자 하였다. 2005년 3월부터 2009년 6월까지 한국정신과학연구소에 뇌파 측정을 의뢰한 우리나라 중년여성 4403명(35세~65세)을 기준으로 선정된 뇌기능 지수(긴장도, 항스트레스지수, 정서지수)를 시계열 선형분석과 상관분석으로 한 결과 중년여성의 피로도, 스트레스 저항력 그리고 정서에는 밀접한 관계가 있었다. 그러므로 사회적으로나 가정적으로 성숙하고 책임감 있는 중년여성의 역할이 필요한 현대사회에서, 중년기의 심리적 생리적 문제에 적극적으로 대처하는 것이 개인생활은 물론 가족의 원만한 기능과 안녕을 유지, 증진하는데 반드시 필요하다.

  • This study investigated the relationship among stress, hardiness and self-esteem of the middle-aged woman. The move to seek the direction of desirable lifetime-cycle training for middle-aged woman in order to improve the hardiness and self-esteem, decrease the stress of the middle-aged woman. This study was conducted among 200 middle-aged woman living in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Chungcheong region as a correlation research. Data collection period was from April 1, 2015 to April 30. Data were analyzed by t-values, Correlation coefficient using the SPSS Program 18.0. Stress, hardiness and self-esteem of the middle-aged woman showed a correlation between net. Therefore, to improve the middle-aged woman hardiness and self-esteem so that needed to decrease the stress development and application of efficient programs.

  • The purpose of the study is to know that the medical skin care improves the quality of middle-aged women's life and happiness improves their confidence by analyzing the medical skin care visit intention, experience satisfaction, and happiness according to their beauty interest. This study analyzed 242 copies of the data through the SPSS v.22 Statistical Package Program. According to the analysis, middle-aged women's interest in beauty is important to experience satisfaction(F=201.821, p<.001). Experience satisfaction is statistically significant to happiness factors(F=384.625, p<.001). Based on this study, differentiated marketing that identifies the intention to visit is needed. Also, the higher the satisfaction of medical skin care experience, the more helpful it is to lead a positive life by improving their confidence.

  • American Psychiatric Association defined hwa-byung as a unique mental illness of Korea, a kind of anger syndrome. This illness caused by the Korean culture is more often found on women than men, especially middle-aged women. The cause of hwa-byung mainly depends on the traditional family structure of Korea formed by Confucianism. Other causes that many middle-aged women suffer from hwa-byung are that their low education level originated in their wrong-recognized position in society and poverty in the past makes them not to be able to control their minds effectively(social psychological factor), and that they get stressed and depressed because of loss of their position in the family after their children leave home and the menopause which hurts their feminine beauty (physiological factor). So, this program aims at letting them to; 1) experience catharsis of the negative feelings which causes hwa-byung by expressing in psychodrama, 2) ease the symptoms of hwa-byung by relaxing their mind, 3) understand themselves through sharing their feelings and thinking at the group level, 4) acquire the opportunities to stabilize and expand their role in their real lives through the role playing.

A Convergence Study of Factors Influencing on Depressive Symptoms in Postmenopausal Middle-Aged Women (폐경 후 중년여성의 우울 증상 영향요인의 융합연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify its influencing factors of depressive symptoms in postmenopausal middle-aged women though analyzing secondary data. The data of 647 with 40~65 aged women who participated in the Seventh Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey in 2016 were used. The data were analyzed by complex sample independent t-test and multiple linear regression. In multiple linear regression analysis, economic status, subjective health status, perceived stress, smoking, physical activity, and limitation of active had significant effect on depressive symptoms in postmenopausal middle-aged women. These variables explained 36% of the variance in depressive symptoms. The findings suggest that healthcare providers should be considered to these factors when developing intervention strategies to decrease depressive symptoms in postmenopausal middle-aged women.

Effects of Stress and Self-esteem on Depression in Middle-aged Women and Middle-aged Men (중년여성과 중년남성의 스트레스와 자아존중감이 우울에 미치는 영향)

  • The purposes of this study was to identify the significant predictors of depression. The data were collected using questionnaire from the sample of 114 middle-aged women and 125 middle-aged men. The data were collected through self-report questionnaires, which were constructed to include stress, self-esteem, and depression. Data were analyzed using frequencies, means, $X^2$-test, Analysis of Covariance, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis with SPSS 18.0. The significant predictors of depression for middle-aged women were stress(${\beta}=.387$, p<.001), self-esteem(${\beta}=-.249$, p<.05), health perception(${\beta}=-.191$, p<.05), explaining 43.1% of the variance in depression. The significant predictors of depression for middle-aged men were self-esteem(${\beta}=-.429$, p<.001), stress(${\beta}=.322$, p<.001), explaining 56.0% of the variance in depression.
